  1. :confused1:Really????? You actually believe those people want to be doing honest manual work?? I can honestly say in my nearly 30years working life I've ever met any hard worker who's been on benefits for more than a couple of months. I've met plenty of other people on benefits for years, but that was not down to lack of work:sneaky2: I've never seen the job centre closed due to no vacancies either
  2. I'd call Arborisk, I've found them to be excellent!!
  3. Really enjoyed that!!! Your experience really shows through in your work, the way you calmly pulled out the saw and did a bit of undercut cut on that big top was awesome, IMO. Crane work may not be physically hard, but takes some pretty big balls, which you clearly have Great vid, please keep them coming mate!!
  4. Be very careful with paypal, the buyer can take the item, then claim there is a problem, start a case with ebay and they may refund his money. Bank transfer or cash, IMO.
  5. Apologies, I've just looked and it was 6 months ago that you said it, and in fact at that time you said it would be out in 12 months not 6, so your actually still on track, sorry Sounds really good, I would love one!!!
  6. We seem to have got at cross purposes, I was earlier saying I thought this timber looked very poor. My comment about board room tables was not in reference to this timber, but to your comment about no one wanting a single plank table 6' by 18'.
  7. Some Companies buy such tables for their board rooms and they have the cash
  8. You said this 12 months since, is it getting any nearer???
  9. Whats "rig"??? . Pretty much all free fall, few bits chucked, mate. Don't think I've used a lowering rope in over a year.
  10. Nicely done Rich, did he put the big lump down, or straight on the truck, not that easy to set down, IME.
  11. Thanks mate It was pretty big at the base, felled it with the 66 with 25"bar, you can see it was a far way from the middle, so well over 50"
  12. Few more pic's https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10711123_373873129427662_521705075474833994_n.jpg?oh=c36353dc9be41aba0342487cc0dc81f7&oe=54B682E0 https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10405252_373873262760982_6325326538104484054_n.jpg?oh=68f3b2eba22f475e9a759ea3c0296608&oe=54F05D8A https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/1016568_373873272760981_163053197193553545_n.jpg?oh=3b9ce8fdf477f22bc80f814d96782b5e&oe=54EEAB85 https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10669988_373873286094313_6266353188607317197_n.jpg?oh=32fa499f92e578039a81cd0d14aba963&oe=54F3EB0E&__gda__=1425402578_cb6fe1cdcb3bd1513c720806d1ebfd25 https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10606089_373873316094310_8223187160658542450_n.jpg?oh=fc2d5550eb98fcd81ef76e14359e8885&oe=54B030F6&__gda__=1420530510_df96f72e49d6fadc0178f57508ab6913 https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10440929_373873329427642_7713239217357444436_n.jpg?oh=84ab9f5b92302377f34e40aff2663227&oe=54B47963 https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10443417_373873356094306_8985451680221920281_n.jpg?oh=01dc57c26520c86ec97fee1287e36743&oe=54B8C86C https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-9/994492_373873412760967_427284456548284073_n.jpg?oh=6180d848d4d8c95d3175ca2e5b14addb&oe=54AB4942&__gda__=1422072367_b47ac3b696df1d1ec210488ee2bd321c https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/10635767_373873432760965_6850439035987460328_n.jpg?oh=409710d54f1b4b744db644b0cc4168d6&oe=54B7DA52&__gda__=1422070755_57a8f5aa82b814aa5585194a914a7b7e https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/1958174_373873449427630_8798241509306861345_n.jpg?oh=a7d41b9e70ca2ea7124b05a6b1a6eeb2&oe=54AEFA5F https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/10703787_373873469427628_4041586615308588441_n.jpg?oh=f6b61dd1acc1a949a3faafb611fb37dc&oe=54C26E9B&__gda__=1421028650_52101fde33de9153481486833d21163e https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10346388_373873499427625_8937691687138121593_n.jpg?oh=deebc3ac38b110c59f40a8d9262d9bf1&oe=54B2E17E&__gda__=1425551351_68097bbe91927e11e6e4f7291aad76ac https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/t31.0-8/10683688_373874426094199_2039199423204316297_o.jpg
  13. Here are some short video clips of a big Beech I dismantled, I'll post some pic's too shortly
  14. You think people who don't need classes wear contact lenses?? My eyes are fine, if I was going to the trouble of planking that butt I'd be hopping for full width usable boards, not bowl blanks. I was simply asking Rover if it had been worth his while and expressing my personal opinion.
  15. Don't need em thanks Looks like a lot of included crap to me, especially looking at the thickness of piece removed.
  16. Looks pretty ropey to me, did you get some usable timber out of it Rover?? I wonder if it would have lent its self more to being carved???
  17. Much of this thread reminds me of the guys who moan about being undercut on tree work prices and then their next post is "who's the cheapest insurer?":sneaky2:
  18. What about all the sawdust and bits under the splitter???
  19. Its in the Oxford English dictionary, which is generally considered the authority of such matter, it dates back to the 19th century, so hardly new. Its a double negative, but I don't think its the only one.
  20. Actually it is a word, but a bit of a nonsense word disliked by many.
  21. I've never measured it Jon, its well over 6ft high in the middle, so I guess its got to be well over 12ft wide.
  22. This is in a derelict hall, in a Village near me, its possibly the hall from Wuthering Heights. You could actually sit behind the fire.
