  1. Thats very helpful, this sentence is from the document Self-suppliers will also be able to source waste woodfuel from outside their Estate for use in their installation
  2. Can't say I'm surprised , far better that I landfill the wood (giving off just as much C02 as burning) than burn it and burn less oil, gas or coal. But then this is the same people who think wind turbines are a good idea
  3. The more years you have been trading the more confident you become, if you have traded for 20 years and survived a recession, you can feel pretty confident that the phone will keep ringing. So long as I can put down a decent deposit I happy to borrow against a fixed asset, if things go bad the worst thing thats gonna happen is you sell the asset and pay off the loan.
  4. Is it possible to use arb arising to produce RHI fuel??? I'm thinking of changing to a DRHI qualifying boiler and would want to produce my own fuel from arb arising, its obviously a very green means of producing energy, as the trees are being felled/pruned regardless, so making use of the arising has to be a positive, but I know common sense and the government are strangers, so who knows???????
  5. I've never been able to bring myself to buy one of the stihl ground saws with the plastic handle bars, why did they not stick with the alloy tube??
  6. Finance is a tool like any other, do the sums if its going to make you money its a sound investment if not don't bother.
  7. I presume its fitted with stress control, is it achieving full revs?? The rollers will only turn once the minimum RPM have been reached.
  8. I really don't see an issue doing that with an Oak, it will react well IMO, not something I'd want to do to a Sycamore, Ash, etc.
  9. Pretty sure its galvanised, as you say they don't seem to rust.
  10. No,no,no, its sold by the "load", I thought everyone knew that!!!
  11. Alloy Gecko's would be my choice.
  12. I heard on the radio the other day that world wide wild life has decreased by 50% in recent years, its pretty scary.
  13. Sure and the banks print their own money
  14. Since when did politicians set the price of food???
  15. Again, up to the design "train weight" of the mog, but not more than 44t I would imagine.
  16. I've got the perfect mod for the 540…………………………………………………. .ebay.
  17. You much be rough then, I've never had one fail.
  18. Why should we have to???? I've been throwing my 020's and catching the strop at the base of the saw and sliding it down for 20 years without any problems at all, my two 201's has been thrown without issue. I clip high when it suits, but chucking is much quicker for much of my work.
  19. If they intend to build where the tree is stood I'm pretty sure a crown reduction will be insufficient
  20. Sorry mate, what I'm meaning is, if you have some sort of incident or accident that leads to either a large insurance claim or an HSE investigation your tickets may just cover your ass and you may then feel it was money very well spent. I guess if you trade until retirement without such and accident or incident you may be right in thinking it was a waste of money, but then again what price on peace of mind?? Also because you have the tickets you can pick and chose between the insurers which should lead to cheaper premiums, this over time could well cover the cost the tickets and possibly even lead to a saving
