  1. Not used one, but they look very domestic.
  2. You liked it then!!!! .
  3. Hehe I've live in the shadow of Pendle my whole life, although you were "tuther side O hill". Did you get chance to see the collage?? Stunning place
  4. You have a fantastic view!!!!! I had no idea it was so nice on the moon:thumbup1:
  5. I'm keeping the magic anyway, so thats always an option, time will tell.
  6. Yes if I did not need the billets for the boiler that would be the way to go, but I think the Posch splitmaster is the best thing for billets, we are already trying to bring timber home in meter lengths.
  7. But my billets will be of a size that requires splitting after they are cut.
  8. Not sure, I've had it a long time, I bought it when they first came out, great machine, very safe
  9. Maybe, but there not really any much better ways of dealing with arb arisings. We bring home a fair bit of branch wood and smaller trunks that will go straight through the 300, so I recon it will beat ringing it up and splitting. The fact that we have been paid to remove the wood in the first place rather than buying in, plus RHI on the kiln, means speed is not a huge issue, I'm not looking to do thousands of cubes, just keeping the yard clear and bit of extra income is all I'm after.
  10. Yes I have a Thor 12.5 magic, which I have been using for logs and billets, but with bigger stuff I find it pretty heavy going, gravity is the problem, I think getting the lumps to waste hight and keeping them there till they are finished is the secret. Time will tell
  11. The billets will go straight on the boiler, once seasoned, that will be mostly pop and softwood. The stuff that I then put through the posch will go in the kiln and be retailed.
  12. To help cover overhead.
  13. No, I'm thinking the part in your picture, shim between the bracket from the stop bar and the part that clamps it, if that makes any sense at all. But shims at the top will also help.
  14. I'm going to put the billets through a posch 300.
  15. Yes got the single, 4 way and 6. Yes timber such as beech and sycamore I'll stick with the 4way with table, much less waste, the 6way should be good for pop, ash, etc.
  16. Very nice, whats the reason for the bucket being slightly offset???
  17. Yes 30. I had one about 8 years ago, I never found a lump it would not split. The comfort table on the blade is such a good idea, imo.
  18. I think you need to shim it so there is more purchase.
  19. Thats what we do on the Schiesling I know I've overdone it when I see my lad having to kick the bar to reverse the rollers
  20. Its Jonnys
  21. I pass Gibson's most days, if you like drop me the serial number I'll call in a see what they say .
  22. Do you have some kind of deck/table to feed the splitter? I've been splitting big rings, its pretty back breaking:thumbdown: I've ordered one of these, I'm sure its going to be easier, plus its Ideal for the billets for my boiler. [ame] [/ame]
