  1. You've really got your big wooden spoon out tonight Jonny, what's up???????
  2. Word
  3. I bet your neighbours love you!!!!!!
  4. People may find my posts a little blunt, but I never insult and always endeavour to use reason and logic. I'm happier following the examples such as this gentleman https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/donate/ranulph-fiennes-marathon rather than the give up and fester brigade
  5. His sideburns are very impressive!!!!!!!
  6. Excellent!!!!!!!
  7. Many, many years ago my dad found a large mortice chisel in a large beech he was cutting for fire wood, he is a joiner, he cleaned it up and made a handle for it its been in his tool box ever since.
  8. Show off!!!!!!
  9. 5'11'' 12.5 stone.
  10. Good thinking, quiet and smell nicer if being kept indoors
  11. Must be nice to make something using only your own energy, plus it must be very quiet
  12. They smell horrendous, IME.
  13. Do you have any figures to support this?? I know petrol is now cheaper than diesel (unlike in the past) but don't petrols use far more fuel??
  14. Whats up Jonny you bored???
  15. How very disappointing I have not referred to science once I speak from my personal experience and and that of those I have met, along with listing to many health experts on the radio. Its pretty pathetic how many one here resort to nonsense and insult rather than try and build any sort coherent argument.
  16. Oh dear you have really fallen for it. Who makes money from house price increases?? Banks, estate agents and the wealthy who buy to let The thing is when do you not need a home?? Its like the value of your kidneys increasing .
  17. If you were talking about people in their 60's I would maybe agree to some extent, but 40's is just ridicules, I know plenty of climber who quit before 40 There are professional footballers in their 40's. The thing is IME the people who say "I'm getting to old for this lark" are unhealthy, they over eat (usually the wrong food) over drink (alcohol is basically poison) and generally don't take good care of themselves. Many people treat the bodies with contempt, as you age I agree that your body will not cope as well with a abuse, plus years of abuse catch up with you. I'm fortunate to have been surrounded by a great many very active, very fit and healthy older people, I chose like them not to accept the myth that you body falls apart once you hit 45. As for your analogy
  18. Rubbish, a crown lift on that Beech will DRAMATICALLY increase the light reaching that lawn. My advice to the owner would be move, I will never understand people buying a property with a large, mature, protected tree, if they don't like it
  19. I have the Aldi one, works just fine and only £40
  20. Presumably you feel employed climbers are in the same boat? So you see running your own firm is the only option?? I've not been employed since I was 19, I like self-employment.(well I guess I'm technically employed now by my limited Co, but you know what I mean ) I had an interesting discussion with a customer this week regarding age, he's 72, just been treated for very aggressive prostate cancer, he's never stopped and is greatly saddened to see all his contemporaries adopt your attitude towards life and getting older, they mostly eat and drink to much, do to little and then blame the failure of their bodies on age, its ridiculous. There is no reason why a freelance climber cannot make a good living and they can also diversify into other work not just climbing, its a very real career choice IMO and one I sometimes wonder if I should have stuck with.
  21. Presumably it has many and stops at the appropriate one for the log length you set.
  22. Things were bloody good right up to 2008 in my opinion, been very tough since then, but things are now improving I believe
