  1. Bentonarb, if you dont mind me asking? how much is the aluminium side going to cost you? i know that the price fluctuaties quite frequently. When i asked i was quoter £600 for the sides to be built and fitted.
  2. Bentonarb thats a nice looking truck. i was thinking a box like yours but out of aluminium. what yea transit is that?
  3. thanks for the help lads.
  4. Just trying to find insurance for me (age 20) on a transit . I wondered who you guys have your van insurance with and what you recon to them ect.... many thanks adam
  5. that cabstar is the sort of thing i was thinking of. the chip box i mean. do you mind if i steal the design?
  6. thats a really long ldv. again a nice looking truck though. what do you recon to them?
  7. thanks for the picture mate, good looking truck there.
  8. i think i still have your number mate, can you pm me your number anyway just in case. thanks blake.
  9. Hi all, getting a transit in the next few weeks and need some ideas for the greedy bords. going to go down the aluminium route, but wondered if anyone could show me what they have so i can see what looks best. look forward to seeing your trucks
  10. i always provide written quotes now , with another quotation/acceptance form for the customer to sign and send back. that way they cant argue that you didnt do what you quoted for or you quoted them less. some customers just seem to try their luck all the time. not all mind. but just makes it easier i think.
  11. landy 90. excellent for towing. excellent offroad. however not towed anything off road with mine. its up for sale too. not trying to delibeatly advertise on the forum or anything
  12. i tihnk its covers general tree work in domestic circomstances. if you require insurance for work with cranes, power stations, railway work ect you will probably want to go with someone else.
  13. well the guy i talked too said i am covered for grinding, burning and i dont think i have a height limit. nothing was mentioned and i cannot see it in my policy wording....
  14. nothing i noticed....... they dont send you the documents as such, they are available to you via their website, you log in and print them off......bit odd but does the trick and must save them a fortune on postage costs.
  15. i am insured with them , i was unsure but called them and they all seemed ligitimate. its all inderwritten by another company i think its brit insurance or something. hopefully i wont need to use it. however i was passed their number by a collegue who is also insured by them . next year i think i will use arbinsure or trust insurance. i just needed re-insuring quickly so i went with them. hope that helps slightly
  16. that in the advertiser?? there is no end to the madness haha. you dont win them all mate, i have had plenty like it. but you will always win work. and lets face it. you will forget avbout this job in a few weeks. or when the next one comes along.
  17. i agree with matt with the cherry picker thing. why climb when yo have them st in the yard. especially your big picker. that a monster!
  18. those husky hatchets look good. or just use a bill hook mate.
  19. i had a go with one at the af show , now asong as husky dont go and change the prototype saw you could demo at the apf , it will effinatly be a serious contender for the 200t. it felt much more powerful, faster cutting, and surprisingly it had more torque than the stihl. i was really surprised by hw good it was on the few cuts i did with it.
  20. i wouldnt bother with it. go for a smaller stihl or husky they re more exencive but will last far longer. any stihl from the ms170 - ms230 will be perfect for what you want.
  21. i tried it at the apf show. absolute monster. deffinatly getting one.
  22. the whole chain is sharpened with the one device. or thats what i was tod anyway . the chain is not lik a convetional chain atall.
  23. I will see what im up too, should be ok though. im sure the chain hasnt worn out already as its had about 4 sharpens. Like i said i was great when we first got it. but it just cuts ike a blunt saw now even after sharpening. my collegue also bent a tooth when he first used it. we took this back to winchester and they said they would let oregon know bout it. The stone fitted is the one that comes with the chain. we have checked all of it and art from the obvious wear to the stone there is no form of debris in the device that could prevent it from sharpening. could you pm me what time you wil be in wgm please? thanks adam
  24. we have one and it is the last one we will ever buy. terrible. the idea is good but in prctice doesnt work. when it gets past a certain point it doesnt resharpen itself. we great to start with but half way through the chain it looks like it has munching flint even after its been sharpened.
  25. Adam
