  4. seconded!!!
  5. very nice indeed. how much was it if yo dont mind me asking?
  6. wait untill the APF show if you can make it. then you can test the machies out against eachother.
  7. sorry to hear about the loss of your job, but i hope the new line of work goes well. good luck mate.
  8. you'll get used to it. wont ever stop either mate, people will always nose when they hear saws or see signs for felling. We were pollarding some trees for the council a few months ago , we closed the footpath, put signs up ect.... people egnored them on the way to work and one woman said'oh i dont have time to go back round' . the public can be stupid. not all. just some.
  9. excellent piece of work their mate. would love to be able to carve like that. my limits are mushrooms.
  10. WGM is in winchester. and just near stockbridge their is Orchard hill/redwoods.
  11. you get in contact with the wood owner then? glad you enjoyed the work. the novelty will wear off haha. good luck mate.
  12. ahh right, not a million miles from me then. not many jobs where you can just fell trees that size in a oner.
  13. brilliant job, where abouts was it?
  14. Nothing now. my landie has died again so all my money for this month is going on that.
  15. I run 265-75-16 Kumho KL71's on my defender, handled great in the snow and not too bad on the road . a bit noisy though. but it is a mud terrain tyre so what do you expect. Great in the mud too. only time i have got stuck with them is when i was hauling oak out of a feild in the snow , i slid back down a slope and into a tree so couldnt go up down or steer anywere.
  16. Well if you can move it by hand as it lies then move it. if it needs cutting just leave it mate.
  17. seconded. And to be honest. if its not in the way their is no need to move it, you can just leave it as it creates great habitat.
  18. i do that all the time. then it gets to mogs and big kit that i cant afford haha.
  19. thanks for the positive input guys. the unfortuinate thing for me was i broke my wrist in may so lost a lot of work due to being injured. Im just going to go up the yard and start cutting logs for winter. already got some but not loads. Tried with the grass cutting too.... people seem to rather have their gardeners do it round here. but oh well . Carry on with posting fliers and look into getting the landy sign written. Again thanks for the input. I knew it wasnt going to be easy starting a buisness , i think i just chose the wrong year to start.
  20. probably get one at the APF.
  21. logs arent even shifting for me mate, but then there are hundreds of ' log suppliers' around me. there are a couple of big suppliers too which doesnt help haha. and the weather has been appauling for the last 2 months. im glad im not doing harvest this year really. just going to have to sit it out and hope winter brings more work.
  22. that den is an absolute beast. i cant figure out the floating pine cone either. great pictures though.
  23. the 261 look like a good little saw. my next purchase will be one of this i think with a 13" bar.
  24. i mean its even like the bread and butter hedge cutting work and small trees are just not getting done. as mr blair said. its school holidays that i think are being the killer for me.
  25. but what is the ms780??? i have never seen one...........
