  1. the 361 is conciderably faster than the 341. i have a 341 and think its a great little saw, just been replaced by my new 441 which im going to use as my everyday saw. but for the price difference the 361 is a far faster cutting . but you were asking about the 341. good saw, wouldnt run an 18" on it as it would be far too slow for anything. 15" with the 3/8" chain is what i have on mine and i find it to be a great little saw. doesnt compare to the 254 though.
  2. ok then thank you for your help.
  3. but on average how many m3 do you get to the tonne? i dont really get the tonne to m3 exchange. never had it explained to me.
  4. hey all , i know this has probably come up but i was wondering what profit you would get back per tonne of hardwood as logs? just looking into getting an artic load for next year. also what is a cube roughly in weight, just so i can get my head around it. many thanks adam:001_smile:
  5. how did you get your logo at the top of the page. i cant seem to work it out.
  6. hi flex. i find them far more cofortable than strech airs. and i own both hi flex and strech airs. choose the hi flex whenever they are not in the wash.
  7. Nos? 1969 GT 500 V8? the list goes on haha. try tinkering with the fuel pump , different air filter ect....
  8. whats this rowden? getting safety conscious !? so how is the cut on your arm ?aha.
  9. pop for saw logs, never herd of that, but then again i am not really into the milling side of things. would love to have that david brown as a yard tractor. great pics.
  10. i live just outside andover in a village called hurstbourne tarrant. there is a large forestry contractor and 4 other tree surgeons within 3 miles of me. competition is high haha.
  11. i think you may have to, however if its your first level 2 course i think you get it for free ? but dont quote me on it as i am unsure, if you call the college and ask to speak with Kith Weale he will be able to give you all the information you require. Keith is the NC tutor so wil know the most about it.
  12. sparsholt is probably your best bet, if you want to get into the industry quickly then sparsholt offer the NC in arboriculture which takes a year and i tihnk its 3 days a week. you get all the relevent training and NPTC tickets. best to do a course, learn a bit about why you are carrying out work to trees ect... i did 3 years at sparsholt , Level 1 woodland skills then onto ND arbouriculture. i would really reccomend the college . here are some details about the course.Sparsholt College Hampshire - City & Guilds National Certificate in Arboriculture hope this helps .
  13. im about an hour and a half away i think. winchester isnt too far from london really. quite close to southampton. will have to call into WGM later this week.
  14. 441 it is then . hopefully towards the end of this week. see what my local dealer can do.
  15. when will this newer version be about? guessing next year at some point now?
  16. im still reading haha, i was looking at the 46 too. just saw the 441 as the newer model, newer technology ect... but it makes you wonder why it needed changing an the 46 didnt. was also looking at makita, but unsure of them. and the 372 and 575 dont seem to be brilliant ..... so im going to stick with orange and white i think. whatever saw i get it will be run on an 18" bar. i was looking at the 361 but i would rather spend a bit more and get the bigger saw.
  17. that really helps , what problems have you had with the 372? i herd they shake themselves apart?
  18. replacing a 341, i know its a bit of a jump on a saw. but want something bigger with a bit more power. 341 was a good saw but wont be getting another one i dont think.
  19. hi all , since my ground saw has decided to die i tihnk i will be getting a bigger saw for the ground. i was thinking the 441 with 18" bar. wondering what people who have used the 441 think ? i am open to suggestions on other saws of a simmilar size. thanks adam
  20. ok i will have a chat to him and see.
  21. well , it has been working fine for the past 3 years, never missed a beat, but today i was using it to mash some brash down on site swtched it off then it wouldnt start again. sounds like a seal or gasket has gone , took it apart and could find nothing out of place. so into the shop it has gone and im hoping that it isnt bad news. if it turns out to be , who is the cheapest company to get another 341 from or a 441?
  22. hmm, i am not sure, will have to look them up on google, cheapest i have found near me is a tw150 for £100 plus vat.
