    The Versu also has the load sensing pump with near 160l/m displacement too. If you have the upgraded one. CVT on the road takes some getting use to i remember crossing the A1 at about 4pm with a CVT there was a long lag between pushing the leaver and the tractor moving. Scary as the rush hour traffic is flying across the roundabout.

    That looks good. Shame its short a forest roof and a bit out of my price range. As nice as the simple transmissions are i prefer the CVT ones just so you can have a load sensing pump.

    Well you only have to be 16 to take the FMOC through NPTC. The FC use to have a booklet about young people in forestry but i cant seem to find it. If the FC say its 17 then your going to struggle to get them to budge.

    That's my native area too. I don't think there is at the moment but there has been a SSSI up for sale several times in the last few years. It was near the Paradise Park but not the bit that is Wildlife Trust or Gascoyne-Cecil Estates.

    The Hare and Hounds now serves posh food. For example a venison steak comes with about 9 chips stacked 3 wide and 3 high and mushrooms in a ramekin.

What sort of things are you looking for? Info on harrowing/rolling and cutting. Nitrogen application rates or choosing grasses for grazing?

    Get a 1600kg winch. Firstly its what you required to have on a CS32 course and they're not that much heavier than the 800kg one. It removes a lot of faf having to snach a 800 back to pull something that's well and truly hung up. It will spend most of its life in the shed or truck so you might as well just have one good one. The 3.2T is just too big and heavy to lug around unless you need. I tend to use endless slings (sort of like bean bangs) rather than eye to eyes. Seem to protect the trees better. So you will need. 1600kg winch 2 3t strops 1 4 t strop 4t block for redirects. Oh get a crap load of sheer pins too.

    I knew it looked fairly local. I thought it was one of the Estates around St. Albans with a war history (The big concrete blocks gave it away). As for the WF Trac they still fetch mega money and you have to bring the best ones over from Germany.

    Had a Navara that did similar things which they never did solve. DPF filter Fuel rail sensor ECU Could all be culprits.

    Find an trainer and see what they want for a day rate.

    The next one up from Hytran which Case use in their newer kit is designed for a 600 hour change interval. Can't remember what is was called but it was about £60 for 20L

    That is a tidy 399. On the subject of light guarding i use margard. You can pick up off cuts of thick stuff on ebay fairly cheap. Fix it in your steel frame and it does a brilliant job of being strong and see through.

    Clutch is either worn/glazed or the spring isn't pushing the cable drum far enough.

    ValtraTrans. Super UTO would do the job but i'd go for Valtra Trans. It has all the additives your valtra will love but your wallet wont. You need something a little thicker than pure hydraulic for the transmission side and with good heat transfer properties for the wet brakes.

    When i worked over there, some days there would be 3 or 4 valmets in the pub car park about to go snow ploughing. All having a quick dinner before a long shift of clearing roads.

    Welding mask. I've started to use my auto darkening one for grinding. Sparks fly and it darkens down. It's all rather good actually.

    For around 30k you could get a nice Valtra A series new with a loader.

    If your thinking of buying it goes for a lot. I've tried to get several coups in Broxbourne/Wormley Woods but they go for silly money as a play areas. Its a shame because they lovely woods but now lack a joined up management approach. There is some nice conifer in there too. That's if it hasn't all gone through Webb's stroke processor by now. I'd of thought 10-12k an acre wouldn't be far wrong but round London small woods go for silly money. A few acres in St. Albans went for nearly 50k

    You probably already have them Charlie but i have the Forest research thing on High lead. A Norwegan book on highlead/skyline and the worksafe BC skyline stuff. I can ping them over to you on email if you don't and you'd like them.

    I was shown this the other week. Its a real eye opener and i think the real worrying thing is that a person would go through the chipper easier than the manikin.
