  1. I have my old one hanging in the shed.If you can tolerate it having been used at a Vomit recepticel and it stinking of old Sweat and Brilcream then its yours.Just PM me your postal address. P.S.It still looks vaguely CE complient despite is occasional use as a Wheel Chock for the Chipper and having been biffed about on jobs that I have experianced severe Cocaine withdrawls whilst on.
  2. Dosn't mean a toss. Get a bar inbetween the Rotor and feed roller assembly and leaver to and fro. Then side to side, feeling for play. You might not feel anything so have someone watch the shaft and see if it moves. If it does, then its new bearing time. Another thing that could be making the sound, does the Rotor shaft have a collar on it?Between the Rotor and inboard bearing?Sometimes chip gets jammed under them, preventing them from spinning freely and producing a high pitch squealing noise.
  3. I would get the Jensen 528di that is on Arborcuts website,a transit or iveco truck to pull it with.Thats if my work was mainly in town. If at least half of my work was in the Country,I would buy a Jensen 528 or 530 tracked machine.
  4. Get one.Except if your a Woman,in which case you should be in the Kitchen or posing naked for advertising.
  5. These Trees are in a Park However. Also Copper Beech is such a striking Tree that it is unlikely to be planted in a group.Typically they are single feature Trees.I beleive that the "amenity value" of these Trees is insignificant in relation to the intends of the Parks managers.David brings up the idea that these three were planted in order to hedge their bets.
  6. I can understand this. They want to restore the veiws to what was original and the Trees are not.Much like removing a 1960´s "tack-on" to the wing of a Stately Home.
  7. I had one,it was brilliant. So good infact, someone stole it.
  8. Wage vs Living costs I found more favorable in Scandinavia. When I worked at home last time,I was on the same money as Eleven years prior and the cost of living had doubled since then. Your going there for the experiance, not the Money anyway.
  9. Do you have alot of Ceder Mick. Because Jon on here from Somerset will have it if its big.
  10. So I'm gonna put this beside it... Toyota Hilux 1987 | Trade Me
  11. Get into you work Clothes and knock on some Doors .Have a nice folder with your insurance papers and any quals you may have.If you have no work, this won't make you have any less.

    boots

I would get some Pfanner Boots for New Zealand. You certainly don't need the extra insulation that the Chainsaw "Protection" provide.
  13. I think that will.. A:Over load the rear Axel of said Landrover B:Exceed the total allowed Weight of said Landrover once Guys, gear and Fuel is addred. C:Require the operatives to wear Stilts whilst feeding the Machine
  14. I have some part beams from a Submerged Viking age Shipwreck.
  15. You make a very good point. Years ago I talked with a Client who had been a Fireman during the War in Liverpool. He said he was appalled by the Firemen striking over pay,it was called the "Fireservice" a service to keep people safe and help them when they needed it.He joined the Fireservice before the War Started,he never got more pay to head out during an Air Raid and fight fires.
  16. Hooning over Speed Bumps did that to the Chassis.Abuse and Machine and it will fail. I have had Jensen Chippers for six years, own two and owned one prior to it being stolen. They are a good quality, well built machine that requires no special maintenance other than the normal. They cost more than Timberwolfs, because they cost more to make.
  17. But if they only had 5% sound wood in them, you would have been mad to Climb them surely?
  18. Times have changed. Before it was uncommon to arrive in this industry laterally ,as many now do being either self funded by way of previous employment or for example by payouts and training by the Government. The gear is better, the Trees are smaller and as such the climbers reasonable career has lengthened. If the Man wants to spend the last 20 or so years of his working life doing Tree work, then its up to him.
  19. Well.... In fifteen years the grand total of Chipper thefts in Bergen was......0 Then the Caravan Club began having its Summer Jamboree/Tarmacing Comps and now three Chippers have gone in as many years. Purely by coincidence of course.
  20. 4) The potential Reward far outweighs the Risk.Property owners are not allowed to defend their property by force and should they, the perpetrators have the backing of the law/and or feel save in retribution. I feel sorry for the business owners in the UK.However its going the same way here since a certain Social Group began arriving each Summer in increasing numbers.I used to leave my Tracked Chipper on a Trailer by the Roadside and often a Van full of gear in front of it. Those days are gone.
  21. The Carb off a older Sthil Concrete Cutter will fit.The Model with the Circular Air Cleaner on it.
  22. This one was apprehended in Cambodia
  23. I think you can do it.As long as you have large financial resources to carry you along whilst your establishing your business, might be three or more years before you have a steady year round income from your company.Or perhaps you can work part time in another vocation? I have had no formal training in Arboriculture but I did have 11 years experiance and alot of money behind me before starting up.
  24. Why did they not just Dump it like a Fat Bird. I never climb a Tree I can straight fell.Well, unless I priced it for a dismantle and the owners decided to stay home that day.
