  1. This bloke seems to have a few... https://www.donnerbauer.com/ersatzteile/achsen-und-teile-alle-unimog/ @Conor Wright Most/many Germans speak English,it would be wise to ask home to get all that you need together and send it in a "oner ".You might pay a bit more than if your sourced all the bits yourself but Unimogs are common in Germany so the parts come pretty quick.
  2. Complete used portals are available, I bought one from Germany for 200 euro. You can reseal calipers, the kits are about . On your diff there is a little metal tag, right on the top side from memory. Clean it off and take a picture, this might be required when buying portals because there are a few different diffs out there.
  3. How much have you been quoted?
  4. I was told .5mm on the far side and 1.5mm on the side closest to the shaft. The disc will warp when it hits a big bit,too close and you might clatter the anvil. You won't get the blade to anvil gap even anyhow.
  5. Here is a tree down the road from my folks house. Pretty sure most of the detractors on this thread cut their teeth on stuff like this. Because if you sweat the small stuff you are surely dynamite on the big ones?
  6. I thought he did alright. Only one of us were there and that person soon figured out why most of us no longer post videos . Kin embarrassing.
  7. There are plenty of cuts to use that could have dumped that stem with relitive safety. Sadly the victim used the most unsuitable and hurt himself. I hope that film gets shown to every budding climber as a warning against being too cocky.
  8. So the lady put a hunting picture on her hunting facebook page and you don't like it because its not the type of hunting you agree with? Trophy hunting is a great resource in many parts of the world,if someone with a fat wallet wants to feel good about tipping something over with big Horns, then I and many other people in the local community are all for it.
  9. That was a very enjoyable job Rich, thanks for coming over. I find it hard to resist the temptation of a lunge, either overt or covert.
  10. Wild Sheep and Goats get more cunning than Deer. I have shot many of them in New Zealand, the farmers have problems with the wild Rams getting through the fences and crossing their domestic Ewes as well as the threat of TB jumping over to their livestock. If you don't like the fact she poses with a dead animal then frankly thats a problem I fail to understand.Would you have the same level of outrage if someone was posing with a Salmon they had caught from a River stocked with Smolt?
  11. Not sure about that. The Demand would have stayed static, the supply has been reduced? Pay/Wait/don't get it done at all, those choices still present themselves in a saturated market, however if the going rate was set by supply instead of demand, surely no one would be working for their current rate?
  12. If haif the tree companies in the UK folded the rates would double for a couple of years.
  13. This. Thing is,when one company ceases to trade all its compeditors get some of their customers for free.
  14. You can make your own from a sheet of cork, thick cardboard works too. The cardboard needs to be homogenous not the type most cardboard boxes are made from. The hot oil will swell the cardboard between the head and the rocker cover.A film of loctight blue silicon on both the head and the rocker cover with the paper inbetween will help. Make sure both mating surfaces are shiny clean before mounting.
  15. It's not easy for anyone. Some take to climbing faster than others but it is your will to be better that sets you apart. 20 years later I am still sometimes frightened up a Tree, anyone who claims differ are either telling lies, has never pushed themselves or is mentally insane.
  16. How long would hardwood logs keep if stacked in the round in the UK? Because if across the board prices will have to increase due to increasing material costs, would it not be smart to buy as much as you can,sit on them for a few years and process them for a large profit in the future?
  17. Another actor is the relativity low start up costs required, coupled with the simplicity of the vast majority of jobs. You just don't need to invest alot or know alot to get going, any gear you dont have you can hire as well as hire in competence.
  18. Why don't you post a link to the Company you work for?
  19. People call themselves all kinds of things over here. As long as it dosnt effect you,why worry about it?
  20. Next time it happens, just slow right down, think your way through it and after a couple of Pints and a Spliff get it done.
  21. I certainly have not grown my business size wise in the 12 years I have owned it.Machinery and capacity to do work has increased four fold,as has the profit and turn over. Here the number of employees do not increase the profit exponentially, rather mostly increase cost untill you reach the magic number 10. If I was to say what I did to grow my business it would be these things. Being cheaper than everyone else, but doing everything faster. Being able to fix the machines myself, this lowers the initial cost as you can buy used gear and eliminates repair bills. Having two of everything, two chippers, two trucks, etc. No down time when you cannot get something fixed overnight. Having no client wait more than 24 hours for a quote, preferably the same day. Finally in just the last year I took the plunge and bought a Valtra and Crane fed chipper. This has opened doors for me into the commercial market.
  22. I like the various specialty pages on FB.You can ask questions and share knowledge with people who actually own or have an interest in the machine being discussed. There is no financial gain involved for the admins of the page so they can be particular in who they let in.Also its easy to post links to any parts or suppliers that you might know of.
  23. Good thing with FB is that anyone can start a group. If that particular group becomes infested with Deek heads, then another group can appear with the good guys. Forums just tend to stagnate with Deekheads.
