  1. Jamie: Thanks alot for taking the time to draw that for me,I'll check the "throw" on the linkage bar.Although I think Iæve taken the bar off when the machine was operating slowly and manipulated the forward/reverse valve without the bar attached and it did the same thing. Thanks again for the picture
  2. Ok thanks guys, should have mentioned that it always seems to run fine in reverse.E.g. the in-feed direction slows down,I reverse it and the roller will spin at normal speed in reverse. So I think I'll pull off the forward/reverse valve and have a look at it. How do I know if its faulty? The unit is a Farmi CH160 and its new. I'll find a dealer with a flow rate meter on Tuesday
  3. I noticed a few times recently that the feed roller on my PTO driven chipper is running really slowly or stopping without much resistance.I checked the Hydraulic oil level in the Mog and the Hyrdraulic ram at the back operates with usual speed and strength.Could it be that the "flow rate controller" is knackered or that the forward/reverse valve is sticking and restricting the flow of oil?How do I check the conditon on these and what do I look for?

  5. "no country for old men" was an excellent read, the movie did the book justice and thats pretty rare!
  6. Very nice! The shot where the street looked as though it had a hedge pruned along it did look smart.
  7. Least there's no Sharks!
  8. I think you did bloody well mate!Good job!
  9. Thats nice to hear the Animals having a sale value. When I was in my late teens/early twenties, vension was selling for $3.70NZ(I think) for a head shot carcass. So one Deer like that one would have been equal to a weeks pay working in the forest. Now without an export market the animal numbers are so high the Department of Conservation shoots then from Helicopters with shotguns and rifles. Sad in my opinon as recreational hunters could control the animal numbers and at the same time introduce you people to the great outdoors and living a resoncible lifestyle.
  10. Here is one of two Red Deer I took last time I was home, this one was a monster.I carried himout for about three hours after skinning and gutting.I was knackered and next morning had to climb back up and get his mate! Legs burned for about a week!
  11. Sadly you'll find it the same or more demanding with staff or a business partner.
  12. I need some help transfering music from my I tunes programm onto my I pod.I have down loaded the songs from Lime wire and they have gone into a folder on my I tunes programm.Thing is I can't manage to get them onto my Ipod itself.Any online tutorials for this kind of thing?
  13. We felled some Trees off a cliff and into the sea, interestingly it was about a week before the buds burst on the Birch so sank! The pine floated butt up but gave more resistance through the water .We attached a line to the Trees before we felled them,we timed this job for an incoming tide and lifted the Trees out whole with the hiab.
  14. I caught four,I took one home because I caught three yesterday.I gaff the one's I want to keep and shake the "returns" off the hook before landing them. Taste pretty good fresh.
  15. Tonight I went for a quick fish after work, the Pollock are in.Good eating and much better than watching T.V.
  16. Well done! I hope this is the first in many qualifications and the start of a long and happy climbing career!
  17. I'm going to get one as well!I plan to keep a sack barrow in the boot incase it breaks down, then I'll just push it home.
  18. Nice work!I like climbing Pines, and they smell great when your chipping them.
  19. The bed, legs and gear box casing are all cast Iron.we were saying today that when it was made,it might have cost the eqaivalent of the operators anual wage. And I got it free, chances are it will outlast me as well!
  20. thanks, its above the snatch block os out of the "bight". Anyway,Kiwi's are tougher than Oak
  21. Well...the cowboys were straight felling big limbs into and onto the garden!Smashed the path, rail fence and many shurbs, these guys had no idea.
  22. Your probably quite right,a mate thinks that might have happened as well.I couldn't bear to see it scrapped and I'll stuff it into the container tomorrow with the Hi ab.Got somefunny looks this arvo standing in the yard and turning some old "Re bar" for no better reason than I could!
  23. These pictures are from a job that was started by some cowboys in a MEWP.Thankfully the homeowner stopped them before they smashed the house. Fourteen tons of Oak came off these three trees.Firewood situation sorted.
  24. Lesson learned,no harm done.I once cut through the hinge of a tree being winched as I got too cocky. It smashed a fence and landed in a pond. Lesson learned and some harm done:thumbsdown:
  25. Thanks.Yes I'm well stoked,it must weight close to a ton?The truck rode well with the Lathe over the rear axel and it usually takes a ton to do that.
