  1. I became tired of all this splitting and stacking business, instead I constructed a enourmous Cenfrifuge that takes tons at a time.I spin the logs around at a terrific speed and the G force throws all the water out. Anything else is just work.
  2. I could have done with your endoscope this morning Dean. The end of the dipstick on the mog snapped off and I had to fish around in the sump with a peice of wire and a magnet. Who has the dipstick snap? Come on!
  3. That is painful! But Beer is £18 per liter in the Pub here in Norway so £1 per liter for Diesel isn't such a saving.
  4. People somtimes yse an angled back cut on brittle hardwood. The idea is that if the tree starts to "barber chair" then the angle of the backcut prevents the slab from splitting out off the back of the Trunk.I can see how this would work but cutting at an angle is the longest way to cut through the Trunk so if the wood is brittle it gives it longer to Barber chair.I think this method was made redundant in Felling operations by the "bore and release" method.
  5. Because I'm foreign whats the "AA"? And when is it?I feel like a trip to England and need some new gear.
  6. I'll get a hydralic circut tester and have a look a what the pressure is.Thing is that the problem comes and goes, the hydralics on the chipper plug straight into the Mog hydralics. Another thing to fix eh.
  7. Poor example I agree. If the kid had chosen the Boot to ride in then the Cops wouldn't have made Daddy angry by fining him and reducing next months Beer budget. I hope he has to make up the shortfall from his pocket money.
  8. I hate leaving oil spots or marks on driveways.Sombody I know had a hydralic hose blow on their Unimog when it was working in a wealthy clients driveway. As it happened there was a storm drain that went out to the sea directly underneath the chipper. So none of the fish close to out outflow went Rusty that day:thefinger:
  9. I've taken a couple of ladies rec climbing on first dates, somthing different anyway.
  10. Jamie: Thanks alot for taking the time to draw that for me,I'll check the "throw" on the linkage bar.Although I think Iæve taken the bar off when the machine was operating slowly and manipulated the forward/reverse valve without the bar attached and it did the same thing. Thanks again for the picture
  11. Ok thanks guys, should have mentioned that it always seems to run fine in reverse.E.g. the in-feed direction slows down,I reverse it and the roller will spin at normal speed in reverse. So I think I'll pull off the forward/reverse valve and have a look at it. How do I know if its faulty? The unit is a Farmi CH160 and its new. I'll find a dealer with a flow rate meter on Tuesday
  12. I noticed a few times recently that the feed roller on my PTO driven chipper is running really slowly or stopping without much resistance.I checked the Hydraulic oil level in the Mog and the Hyrdraulic ram at the back operates with usual speed and strength.Could it be that the "flow rate controller" is knackered or that the forward/reverse valve is sticking and restricting the flow of oil?How do I check the conditon on these and what do I look for?

  14. "no country for old men" was an excellent read, the movie did the book justice and thats pretty rare!
  15. Very nice! The shot where the street looked as though it had a hedge pruned along it did look smart.
  16. Least there's no Sharks!
  17. I think you did bloody well mate!Good job!
  18. Thats nice to hear the Animals having a sale value. When I was in my late teens/early twenties, vension was selling for $3.70NZ(I think) for a head shot carcass. So one Deer like that one would have been equal to a weeks pay working in the forest. Now without an export market the animal numbers are so high the Department of Conservation shoots then from Helicopters with shotguns and rifles. Sad in my opinon as recreational hunters could control the animal numbers and at the same time introduce you people to the great outdoors and living a resoncible lifestyle.
  19. Here is one of two Red Deer I took last time I was home, this one was a monster.I carried himout for about three hours after skinning and gutting.I was knackered and next morning had to climb back up and get his mate! Legs burned for about a week!
  20. Sadly you'll find it the same or more demanding with staff or a business partner.
  21. I need some help transfering music from my I tunes programm onto my I pod.I have down loaded the songs from Lime wire and they have gone into a folder on my I tunes programm.Thing is I can't manage to get them onto my Ipod itself.Any online tutorials for this kind of thing?
  22. We felled some Trees off a cliff and into the sea, interestingly it was about a week before the buds burst on the Birch so sank! The pine floated butt up but gave more resistance through the water .We attached a line to the Trees before we felled them,we timed this job for an incoming tide and lifted the Trees out whole with the hiab.
  23. I caught four,I took one home because I caught three yesterday.I gaff the one's I want to keep and shake the "returns" off the hook before landing them. Taste pretty good fresh.
