Fair enough. However calling the customers might promote a response,especially if they have delayed the work for other reasons.If they found the cost higher than they may have expected and the work is still not done,you could offer a discount? Or offer cost reducing options like keeping the wood or chip. Well worth five minutes of your time.IMHO

New earplugs. Pop them in your mouth for a minute (softens and moistens them),them roll them beween your fingers and plug your ears. -

Felled a decent sized Yew today,trunk was twenty foot tall and 18 inches through.I first thought of nabbing it for timber to be milled,but the yard is looking pretty full. I'll go back and get it if it makes for decent burning,we felled it for part of a road development so it will only go to the tip otherwise.

Recently with the cold weather (0deg or colder)the chipper is making a "singing" noise.this seems to cease when the machine warms up.I am thinking the belts are first cold and less flexable,then as the engine heat warms them up they become softer and thus stop making noise. The belts arn't slipping under load,they appear to be the original belts and might need replacing.The bearings arn't heating up,and if it was a bad bearing ,I would guess the noise would be constant or get worse with use. Anyone else experiance the same?Or am I looking at the wrong area?Machine has 1000 hours on it.

Is it "Pinus Radiata"? The deadwood can make great firewood if it has seasoned on the the Tree.Wood from old specimens burns pretty well too.

I'd have made him feel a bit silly but not made much of it.Chipping without the truck is abit stupid,but I know I have chipped with the chute pointing the wrong way/missed the mog ,etc. End of the day its your crew.

I like mine done with a brown vinegar and brown sugar brine.I made some years back,but don't remember the quantities of ingrediants. What is the recipe of your batch?

There are a few variations to the "bore and release".In the UK you meet the bore cut at a downwards angle,the cut I showed was taught when I worked in the Forest in New Zealand. I will make another couple of short vids of the variations,when the weather is good.Don't hold your breath!
