  1. Might not be.... Taking one of the bungs out increases the power. Two bungs might make it run too cool or you will have to tune it so rich that it won't idle. You can block up the bungs with a carridge bolt and two washers.Put the nut on the outside and leave enough of the threaded portion sticking out of the washer so you can grip it when you turn the nut.
  2. Vancouver is very nice indeed.Canadians must be the worlds nicest people, the Trees in West and North Van are huge.I thought about staying... Winter in Van is terrible, the summers however are fantastic.B.C. is fantastic if you are an outdoorsman.Fishing, hunting, hiking, cheap Beer and nice ladies. Sounds like a great opportunity to me!
  3. Great excercise! In adition to strehgthening your lower back works your shoulders and legs. While you have the bar you can do up right Rows or super set the excercise with some Cable crunches. Wide grip pull ups with a leg raise at the top are also good.
  4. Yeah. Its easy to do,I saw one tip over when going off a high curb onto a road.To be fair if the driver had known the machines faults it could have been avoided. If thats a real concern then you could probably fit spacers on the hubs. But I would rather have a 625 than a Timber wolf.
  5. One of them was my first chipper.Excellent for what you get, simple, well built and value for money. Looks like it as the larger wheels on it,thats a good thing. Bad point is that they are easy to tip over, but keep that in mind and they are a great wee unit.
  6. Some more crane work and the climbing day
  7. Mark Chisholm came over to Norway with two of his co workers to hold a crane dismantling course. We used two hydraulic knuckleboom truck mounted cranes. Most of the climbers on the course had no prior experiance with Cranes and as each student was in the Tree with an instructor all students had immeadiate assistance and tuition. On the Saturday we had a climbing day in a local park,Mark,Steve and Brian explained some different climbing and canopy access techiques. The Trees were fairly large,in some cases these were the larges Trees the students had climbed. As a bit of a diversion we had a chainsaw throwing competion with male and female size chainsaws.
  8. Thats not good mate. If you havn't seen a professional about the issues in your life and how you are coping with them,I think that now is a good time.Hurting yourself or other people, either physically or mentally is not on. It might be a big step for you to seek help, but I feel strongly that any help you get is well overdue. Take it easy big fella
  9. I liked the looks of the job and equipment. I need a bigger mog.
  10. Two snow mobiles and a rope would have solved that. Idiot.
  11. I would like some arm protectors. Do they make ones for your neck?
  12. Did "Crane Ninja" do that? "Crane Ninja" cleaves Trees with a single Chop!
  13. No I was already a heartless basket
  14. And a Flat cap with a golden horseshoe embroided on the top.
  15. You can hitch a chail onto cable with a hitch that has a rude name. Its a bit like a prussick but tied with a single length of chain, use it to shorten wire ropes when back pulling.
  16. The Hiab was impressive indeed. It can lift 750kg at 120 foot.It also has 200 ft of cable that is spooled on a drum towards the end of the jib.
  17. Thats a soft Northener Cut. I opened my chest with an 020. Thanks for sharing that wee scratch you Tart.
  18. Use a "Buzzard Hook".Its a normal hook but with a "Dead Gate" that unlocks either with a Bolt or by pushing a button on the Hook. Sounds like the crane driver was trying to "yard" the lift, pulling it towards the Crane rather than straight up as it should.Every attachment method has its disadvatages,Grapples,Chains, soft strops, wire rope. If the peice had to come through obstructions, then included loops,ie Strops should not have been used as there are loops to catch things on.A "D" Shackel attached above the Hooks (if its a light peice) and a wire rope with choker would have made a bit more sence.
  19. Got a Crane job rushed through, the 120 ton Cable crane never materialised so we did it with the knuckle boom. Seven Trees, one over the house, three lifted out in one go. 4.5 Hours including Coffee break.
  20. Driving the Mog through the Forest in fine weather. Scandinavian woman. Looking forward to a night out with the lads. Hitting empty .22 shells at 20meters with a Pistol. Crane Jobs. Booking a ticket back to New Zealand and seeing the departure date thats three months after arrival.
  21. People who speed up suddenly when you over take them. Clients that owe me money. Watching the groundie rake up a nice wee pile on a gravel driveway pick it up and chuck it in the chipper. Groundie getting the hump when I chip his lunch after said event.
