  1. Top job mate! Loving the blue Sky!
  2. Almost always got tips working in Germany.I used to buy the weeks grocery's from the money. In the States as often as not we would be tipped,we would pool the money and use it to fund BBQ's.
  3. I don't know about that. But there are more than a few Forest over there that are classed as War Graves. Its illeagle to even take a shovel into them because of all the dead Soliders and unexploded bombs.
  4. Chuck em mate.Just not worth the Risk of them shattering. I have seen the results of a sledge hammer going through a BC1800.Bits of blade were stuck into the Steel end of the Trucks chip box. Some of the blade went out of the top of the Chute. Are they blades for a BC1000?
  5. I am single and without the family considerations that many on here have. I feel sucessful when we have the equipment on site and are charging through the work, when clients and employees are happy with the enviroment we have created workwise. When I am standing in the yard on a summers evening looking at the gear and remember when this was just a dream to me. I am living a dream I have fostered for over a decade, luck, hard graft and going without has gotten me here.
  6. Have a look in the Rigging and roping sub section on this forum mate, there are pictures of it in "Zip line fun" or similar. The Thumb came with the digger,it has two Rams.Very handy
  7. Yes that actually my Chaffeur,I bought him from the a former Soveit country. He is standing beside my "shopping car" .My normal car is a stretched Unimog with two engines.
  8. My steering wheel cover would be made from a Budist Monk and the Fluffy Dice from Snow Leopard Tails.
  9. Quite agree. If I was shelling out my hard earned for a top spec BMW I would want trim that was made from somthing perhaps looted from a Palace by the Germans during the war. Or an endangered tree at the very least. Not to mention what "leather" I would want the Seats covered in.
  10. This could be doable guys. Its a shame that it rains so much here, next Spring would be the best time.No problem with accom,my business partner has a family house in the country thats mostly used as a holiday home and there are three boats there.
  11. Nah,Ammonium Nitrate and "Dets" mate:001_tongue: The whole idea was to dodge mad "Nogs" marching through the streets armed with crossbows and drumming. Anyone who hasn't seen it will think I am joking.
  12. Hiab for the big stuff Digger with thumb for the larger bits Tracked Wheel barrow for the round wood.I never try to carry anything heavy.
  13. Finnished up a job on Saturday morning, loaded up the wagon and headed out after Rainbow trout.Caught I think about ten, heaviest was 15Lbs and the smallest about 7. Slept in the Wagon at the end of a track there is a lake that you can stroll a 4X4 to.
  14. I took down an Oak in a garden in Germany years ago.The Butt was full of bullets, behind the tree around a Celler window were pock marks in the Stone from people shooting at the person in the Celler. I guess during the war the Tree had been in the feild of fire for a machine gun.
  15. Cracking set of photos there Marc, thanks for sharing. I noticed "Q tip" using chains for the Butt sections, treat the man to a set of soft strops! Looks like he deserves them!
  16. I am Arbor God. Ruler of the leafy minions.
  17. I buy my parts and equipment from the UK or Germany. To be honest I find the Germans alot more knowledgable and easy to deal with than the Brits. Typically when I call a parts department in the UK I seldom get the same person twice, have to again go through my order and often the incorrect parts arrive. In contrast should I order parts or buy equipment from Germany,I normally get a Email or call asking wether I recevied the parts or how the machine is going. Recently I discussed coming over to the UK to see a 9" tracked chipper in action, when I called the same company to order some blade bolts I got some indifferent hobbit telling me they wouldn't send them to Norway.Presumabley they were happy to sell a machine worth one thousand times as much as the bolts for export, but puting some bolts in a parcel was to much trouble. Result is they are not the only Dealer that sells that machine,so my interest will go to one of their compeditors.
  18. Personally I like the 177. It shoots a bit flatter and in my opinion head shots are the onlyreliable killer on Rabbits with a typical air rifle. So using a larger caliber with a more curved trajectory dosn't make alot of sence.
  19. I really don't see the problem with there being two climber on the Spar when it was topped out.As has been stated the load was within the capacity of the equipment and the integrity of the Stem. I think its alll relative to the size of the timber and rigging tackle you are using.
  20. Well put Stevie. Thanks for sharing that with us,glad that your ok.
  21. Big project mate, well done! Love the sound of that engine!I would take the sound of a big Diesel over a sports car any day.
  22. Great set of pic's mate! Got to love the "no clean up" jobs.
  23. Titainium Buckinghams with Velcro pads. With 4" Fir Gaffs.
  24. As above, driving to Hastings from gatwick on a wednsday evening. How long will it take and as I am navigating off a Sat Nav are there any faster routes than it will offer?
