  1. Here are some Pictures of a very rare fine weather day in Bergen.
  2. Done it to. Even wondered why the Wedge kept being spit out of the back cut as well.
  3. I did consider a hydraulic winch. But I would like to have an Electric one so I could mount it on either end of the Chipper. The weight of the machine is at the engine end and thats where you want the winch if your pulling the machine up hill. However you ideally want the winch at the hopper end if your pulling bundles to the machine. Andy Collins suggested geting a winch that mounts on tow hitches, thats a great idea that I will persue.
  4. I am mounting a electric winch on my Jensen Tracked chipper.I would like one with about two tons of pull. Its mostly going to be used to pull the chipper up slopes and maybe drag bundles to the machine. What do you reccomend? Also I am wondering if I should mount another Battery as well? The original is pretty small.
  5. Well.I nearly pooed my trousers when I was in there as well..... I went to see the Bus and thought that I would camp the night in my Tent there. But it just felt weird. A few miles away on the way out I decided to spend the night. There was alot of Bear sign, dung,Paw prints etc.So I put my food in a Tree, pitched my tent and tried to sleep. It got cold and I was huddled in my sleeping bag dosing when the tent began to shake.... I opened my eyes and there was a black dot on the side of the tent, like a Bears snout.I grabbed my gun ready to fire through the side of the tent and yelled "XXXXX Off". A Squirrel had climbed onto my Tent and having a bit of a Disco.....
  6. I walked into see the Bus in 2004. Its a little bit hard to find during the summer as its above the Track and hidden by Willows and Alders. I think the guy was in need of help before he went into the Bush with a small Rifle, home made sleeping bag and a bag of Rice. If you do go and have a look, made sure you have a bug net for your head and some Bear Spray or a companion with a Firearm. The Mozzies in there are almost unbearable.Or if you walk in there in the Autum the Bugs won't be so bad. The area that the Bus is situated in is a parcel of Public land that enters Denali national park.So there are quite a few Bears in that area. There are beautiful veiws of Mount Denali on some parts of the walk in.
  7. Like that mate!
  8. I think that "Smart Water" is a great idea.Perhaps if more people used it to protect their investments then all the better. However I think that the UK Police forces apathetical attitude to catching small time Theives is also a problem. For example a flat I shared with others in London was burgled, four days later a Police Woman turned up to take fingerprints...
  9. That does look the Mutts.
  10. Looks good to me mate! I like the way it is easy to carry and the fact that it has two Straps and ratchets attached. I wouldn't worry about the drum wearing out.
  11. I have to remount the tip ram and the deck.I will clean up the edges of the Deck and paint the sideboards the same colour as the Cab. I have to keep needling the painter about the racing stripe. It will probably be a plastic one that sticks on,I think it will have two stripes, one thick the other thin. Yeah I know about the light, broke the sodding lense when I towed it out of the garage with the digger one day.Buggar.
  12. I like the way you have retained the dropsides, the Vice idea is very smart. Maybe put a sheet metal upright on the far end of the Dropside and paint it a bright colour. That way you will be able to see that the side might be down when you look in the off side mirror.
  13. Here are a couple more pics of the Truck outside. Its been the first fine day for over two months.
  14. Do the Horse Shoes have Cleats on them to help with grip? Very interesting photos.
  15. No. They would be suicide on icey roads.I would like some but have another set of the same tyres as it is.Before the tracked chipper I was seriously considering a set though.
  16. Thanks mate! Would have liked to have painted the inside of the Cab.However got stuffed around by the painter.I am waiting for him to come good with the racing Stripe. Won't hold my breath.
  17. Here are a couple of pictures of my mog after a Body off "restoration".Mainly I took the cab off to get it painted and sort out any rust. The Rust removal was pretty breif as what I thought was corrosion was really the factory rust coat bubbling off. Its been about a month late in getting finnished.I only got the Mud gards and X frame back today. Alls well that ends well though.
  18. Just aim between them......
  19. Its great that people are fronting up money for your logs mate! They must have been well chuffed the first time round! Last year our yard was full of logs, nobody wanted them and paid us to take them off site.Been the total reverse this year, people are usually keeping the logs.Even the Connifer.
  20. That Loader Looks the business mate!
  21. I enjoy a diet high in Protein (fish three or four times a day).Soy Milk instead of regular and so on. Back before Humans were farming,we only had a consistant supply of Carbohydrates during the summer. In the Spring,Autum and winter we would have been hunting and eating Animals .Protein is what Muscles use to repair themselves from weight training or physical work.Look at your Teeth, most of them are designed to cut and tear, like a Carnivor.Molars are for crushing plant stems etc.You have more incisors than Molars for a reason. You must also have Carbohydrates as well, hoevever simple Carbs like Sugar or refined Flour cause a spike in your blood sugar levels. Milk was only intended for a high nutrient diet in infacey. Simple Carbs, even Brown Bread are a slow release and do not cause spikes in Blood Sugar. Eat Wheatabix.Good simple Carbs.
  22. If you get the chance, install a climbing line before the day of the job.It gives you a chance to get a better ida of the job before the rush of the day. I do this on most of the big stuff we do,I find it speeds things up no end. I would put two days on that Tree going from the photos.
  23. Give Pilates a go mate. Its similar to Yoga and I found it helped reduce the inflexability I experianced from weight training. Also try cutting out all Dairy Products and refined sugar for a couple of weeks. Cut out the Milk and Cheese on week and the Sugar the next. Try it,you may be well supprised with how it reduces your joint pain.
  24. Thats totally ruined my virtual erection.
