Nice idea mate.But there was a stone wall in front of Mog about 5 meters high.

Today we Zip lined out about eight ton of timber using a zipline.The trees were straight felled and the bush chipped with the tracked chipper. We were able to zip the logs straight onto a trailer for easy egress. Pic one.Mog used at ground anchor and Turfor used to as safety device.The Turfor will slip before the Cable approaches breaking strain.Thats not really an issue when dealing with small timber,but it can avoid embarrasment. From beginning extraction this morning,we were finnished in a total of seven hours.Not bad for two blokes and some gear.

Getting into a Helicopter at the break of Dawn and flying into the Southern Alps.Getting dropped off on a ridge at 4000ft and sitting down,listening to the Helo's engine noise fading into the distance.Making a quick brew and starting off on a weeks Thar hunt.

Haunch of Venison with a few chunks of Garlic pushed into small cuts,along with bits of cracked pepper.Roasted in a covered tray for a few hours. Served with freshly baked bread and a robust Red Wine.

Propper job mate! Maybe consider a Humbolt Notch next time you are recovering the timber? Leaves any waste in the stump and makes for a flush Butt.I for one appreciate a nice Butt.

We have a 7.5 ton flat bed with a 4.5 Ton Hiab on it.Its no timber crane,but for lifting large lumps its pretty good.If like you say the access is good then that might be all you need.
