  1. After reading about far too many things being stolen,I thought that together we might be able to offer some tips to keep our gear secure.Wether it be chippers,Vans, lockups etc. Here is one that I used to use.I used a D shape cycle lock over the Clutch and Brake pedels of my Landy. Then I would chain the steering wheel to the Brake with a length of Grade 8 chain and a Abloy Padlock.A pretty cheap solution to at least slow down any theives.
  2. I like the adverts. The advertisers are all firms you can get feedback on from people on here. Good resource.
  3. Never seen that happen in the past. Just one of those things I guess.
  4. Here you go Ed. However garnishing your bottom with mear Salt and Pepper, won't do much to disguise the taste.
  5. Trees that had been filled with concreate. Why would that ever have been a good idea?
  6. I would have thrown it in the water from up the Tree. Amatures.
  7. One of these will fit nicely onto the back of the Mog.On the back of the Rascal I plan to put a quadbike, and on the quad I will put a wheelbarrow and in the wheelbarrow a broom.
  8. Fido's disaperance confirmed the theory of Car boot Vortex phenomena!
  9. 090 is 137 CC 090 GD has gears in the final drive,I have never seen one but "back in the day" this was the last word in saws running long Bars?
  10. We are in a service industry. If,after explaining to the client all the best options they choose the less correct solution and still want you to do the job then do it.It is after all the clients private property. *winds in neck*
  11. If your not going to be using the machine all that much, consider a petrol powered Chipper?Cheaper to buy and maintain than a Diesel chipper.
  12. Very nice landy indeed! Welcome to the site mate!
  13. Great post! I always like to see pictures of Unimogs in action.Especially after working on mine all day.
  14. I lowered the Rotor shaft into the 528T this evening after replacing the bearings and am having trouble trying to line the knife up to the Anvil. The bearing Case's allow for a slight amount of lateral movement when the bolts are loose,so I lined the edge of the knife up to the Anvil as best as I could and have left it at that.Is there a referance point anywhere on the cutting disc that you can use? The bearings I got sent appear to be slightly different than the originals and as such the markings where the original bearing cases sat where little value. Any help appreciated
  15. Except you'll probably spend more time underneath/on top of/or beside your landy, than a partner. But then again,no one will press charges if you bash your landy.
  16. Thy shall not correct new groundies reverse chain fitting ,untill smoke and confusion appears. Never lend your rope, shotgun ,or chainsaw.
  17. I used to be in favor of capital punnishment. However I think it can be used as a tool to cover up bad Police work and erase any testemony. I am in favour of being able to defend ones life or property with physical force and or a weapon. Its right there that a good justice system should come into play and determine if the actions taken were infact reasonable. "When seconds count, the Police are minutes away!"
  18. Personal preferance is Sthil. I can't say a bad thing about the 660,especially as here they have retained the old style oil and fuel caps. And heated handles come as standard.
  19. Ben Really sorry to hear that mate.I wish you all the strength and luck in the world mate.
  20. Well done! I don't have any experiance with getting saws through customs, but climbing gear has proved to be a "hit and miss" affair. MAF.Ministry of agriculture and fisheries seized my climbing gear last time, sent it away for heat treating and then it got sent to the wrong address. Time before that I got pulled up at Auckland airport, they had a bit of a look through my stuff and questioned what I had been cutting with my handsaw. They wanted to send it away for cleaning but I ended up just removing the blade and leaving it with them. I would scrub all your climbing gear, pay attention to any Velcro and tight spots beween webbing. I had a mate that tried to put all his heavy gear (carabiners, rope grabs etc) in his carryon luggage to save the weight in his other baggage. They turned him around at the X ray machine and it had to go in the hold.
  21. Great post Pete! Really enjoyed watching that!
  22. Had a "down only" Spruce fell one street away from me this morning.-12 at my front door when I left at 8.30,-5deg and sunny now. This is the Fjord in front of my flat, the fresh water sits upon the salt water and freezes. But not thick enough to walk on.
