  1. Nice one mate! Looks very tidy.
  2. Welcome to the Forum mate!
  3. Rate them highly. Can't pick the difference from Saturns product to the original Jensen ones.
  4. Well done Steve, not seen many Willow's that big!
  5. I made a similar "sculpture" this morning.Although smaller it would not have needed a Fence to keep people away from it.
  6. Also the grouser bars on tracked machines sink into Poplar Decks a little bit, makes a Dozer or Digger a little bit more stable on a Truck after its chained down. People back home have made decks and out buildings from Poplar for an age.It seems as though if its off the ground or inside cladding it does ok.
  7. We had a Foot and a half of Rain last month. It started to Rain mid June and we have had no days without measurable precipiation since. Absolutly fed up with it.
  8. I drilled a hole in the flat peice of Steel between the two bolts.I think it was 8mm in dia.The hole is pretty much inline with the exhaust port.
  9. Prop the Tip body up with some Timbers before you start working on that problem mate!
  10. I have no idea about this but...... Since the Wood has been in Salt water, when the water evaporates would it leave the Salt behind?Since the Salt has gone from Saline solution to solid form, could it,if it is left behind be the cause of the Cracking? If after milling, you immursed the slabs in Fresh water and heated it,do you think that the timber might expand enough to transport the salt out? Totally hypothetical.
  11. STUNT FELL!l Saving time ain't a Crime!
  12. Interesting job mate! Am eager to see the pics of the Timber once its Milled!
  13. Civilian.Police are Civilians just like you and me.They are tried in Civilian courts, these days there are two rules. Shot in the guts by an incompetant idiot and the idiot gets a fine.
  14. Nice looking splitter! Did you make it?
  15. Unspeakably Stupid. The UK Police instructor had failed his safety test,he loads a live round into a .44 Magnum Revolver in a class room, points it at a student and pulls the Trigger. He gets off with a fine, because he is a Policeman. You or me try that one in court. Police force fined £40,000 for shooting 'disaster' - Crime, UK - The Independent
  16. I have seen the effects of "I will fell any Tree for firewood" advertisments. One guy in town place an ad stating the above in a couple of local papers, the phone went dead.Anyone who saw the ad or heard about it suddenly thought the resource was worth more than the service. We dropped off about 25 Ton of Spruce logs to the guy to keep him quiet. Now our waste is profitable to him,he tits about on a sickness benefit and we don't have to pay to dump crappy timber.
  17. Position Filled.Thanks guys!
  18. Send us your CV.
  19. Tredoktoren invite climbers with a minimum of 5 years experiance to apply for a contract role during Oct,Nov,Jan and Feburay. The work is mainly Felling by dismantling, with a Hedge or Crown reduction here and there. The role would be for two weeks work per month, accomadation and vehicle provided.Flights provided or refunded to the suitable applicant, depending on their location in the UK. 20. Looks good mate! I would forget the pressure washer and peel the Bark off with Axes and Crow Bars. The Silt and Sand has had 15 years to get into the Bark,I don't think the Pressure washer will shift it mate.
  21. They are just linked together. The Batteries were tested before they were installed.I checked the voltage going into the Batteries when charging. I think it might be the 20year old cable joining them together...
  22. Thanks for the Replies. I will reinstall the Battery thats on charge now and try it with the first Battery's negitive lead disconnected. Both Batteries were receiving the correct amps when I checked them after replacing the Batteries. So the only un replaced part of the circuit are the Cables..... I will have a look at the Cells, but I am pretty sure that they are sealed units.
  23. I had some trouble with poor starting in my car.It has two batteries and now the Battery furthest from the Alernator is running down. I have Replaced the Alernator,Both Batteries, cleaned up the earth points on the Negitive Cables. Both positive leads are clamped together each side of the Supply Cable from the Alternator.I guess that the only thing it can be is that the Cables forming the Circuit from one Battery to the other are deteriorated internally and the Current is not reaching the second Battery? Or the Earth cable on the second battery is internally knackered? Auto Electrics are a bit of a mystery to me.
  24. Thursday I was at the place I get my Chipper Knives sharpened and there was a MS170 lying there in a box.I have been trying to turn one of them into somthing usefull so I asked if it was knackered and if I could have it. The guy said take it away,he reckoned it has been fed neat Fuel and had blown the Rings.I took it home, tightend up the Spark Plug and used it to cut up some Pallets yesterday. Result!
  25. Really liked those pictures mate! Especially the ones with the Dozer, its pretty unusual to say the least.
