  1. Especially if they have been Thoughtfully done with "Glow in the Dark Ink". Kind of like a Air Craft lining up on a Foggy Runway in the Dark.
  2. Why not have all the idler's running on Torsion Blocks? I think many AFV's have a similar system but comprising of Torsion Bars. A Tractor Engine,Gearbox and Rear Diff would work. You need the independent Breaking that will turn a Tracked machine,I think all 2wd Tractors have that. You could Weld up a Steel Sub Frame from Tube, mount your Engine and Drive Train on it.Then make Brackets for the Torsion Bocks and bolt them to it.Then Clad the Sub frame in Mild Sheet Steel. You would need to Have an adjustment system to Tension the Tracks, that would be up the Front at the fore most Wheel on each side. If you used small Car Rims for your Idlers and welded Flanges around them you could probably run Rubber Excavator Tracks. Probably cheaper and easier to buy an Argo and put some Tracks on it though.
  3. Sure! You pay postage.
  4. Pretty much all of the Fire Wood available in retail outlets like Supermarkets and Garden Centers here in Norway is Trucked in from Lativa. The Quality/Moisture Content/Size is very inconsistent. Almost all of it is Split Saplings of about 4inches Diameter, packed into 40liter Sacks. It sells on its convenience and product placement. One Garden center here in a town of just 350,000 sold £50,000 of Wood in a single weekend!
  5. Smaller Helo would not have lifted it. If it was in strife, the Helo could have Buttoned it off or dragged it.
  6. Propper Job! A D6 would have pulled that off the House. But I would rather use that Helo!
  7. Excellent Pictures mate! Love the sound of the Big Ones when they hit the ground.
  8. I Said WALK THE DOG!
  9. I have made it simple for you!
  10. Made a horrible noise.
  11. SURPRISE FELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did it because it was there!
  12. If the Tree is leaning back. The deeper you cut the face, the less Timber is holding the Tree up. Might be fine if you have a tensioned winch line on it.But not flash if your tapping it over with Wedges. My Face cuts for Trees are 30% Max.
  13. Fair play. I have seen some pretty amazing pictures of the angles they can run on.But thats without a chipbox. I am cautious in any off road vehicle on a side slope.
  14. Did you have a load in it?
  15. Classic Dave! That website is going to get alot of use!
  16. According to that BMI scale posted,I am Obese. Apparantly.
  17. Took down a couple of Spruce down a Bank.Stripped one and Rigged it with a Pulley mid line. Then pulled all the Branches from both and the Timber from one up the Hill.Ripped the other Tree into Beams and the lads pulled them up while I had some important Phone Calls to make.
  18. Make sure your Boots are well worn in,if possible worn in the same kind of Terrain your going to be moving in.Thats because going up and down carrying a load changes the pressure points that your Feet experiance. I take it that you have worn a heavy pack for extended periods before?Otherwise your shoulders and lower back may get rubbed worse than they probably will be.You could try toughening up the skin with Methelated Spirts. But what you really want are Callouses there. I had to carry a Car Battery and Rifle 40km through the mountains last new year.No fun.
  19. Blow the Chip back into the Hedge as "Bio Mass". Maybe limb the Stems up a couple of Feet above your level. Then when you fell them out, they won't disturb the branches at what is soon to become the new top edge. Christ I am glad I'm not doing that job.
  20. Get a Ball Peen Hammer and a flat surface like a Stump and hammer it straight.Unless the Bar has been folded, you should be able to do it.
  21. Hang on. Someone hacked off a few Branches from a Minging Sycamore and threw them in the River.... Thats hardly Bludgeoning White Swans or Setting Horse's on Fire.
  22. If theres one going for the right price I would grab it. Its abit like the jack in your Car,you hardly ever use it,but when you need it,you really need it.
  23. I tell them about it,I want the Job more than the "feel good factor".
  24. Thats true. Before things like that were common or available you just had to find a way to get the job done.
  25. When does it turn into a Shark? I would like one if if actually turned into a Shark.
