  1. its a different type of chain, like chisel and semi chisel are different to each other
  2. i had a skip chain on my 084 and i have to admit i prefered it on a 36" bar, especially with the bar burried in timber it gave a lot better chip clearance,
  3. if you pause the video and watch it from 1.08 and look at the two cuts from that time, you can see how close they actually are,
  4. think its ok in very clean timber, other than that its not worth it, anyway here is some info Square Chisel Chain Q & A
  5. i have a brown church on my 130 twin cab, very well made, they have lots of mounting points and are rated as 150kg loading , they are heavy duty enough to walk about on top off
  6. i think they were about 180 when i bought mine but i think they have gone up a bit since, then you need a ripping chain as well if you can get the saw and chain set up right they are pretty good but not a smooth finish by any stretch, sorry i saw you had tried to pm me yesterday so i have deleted a load now! you need to contact rob d on here as he is the uk importer
  7. depends in what situation, ideally PA1 and PA6 for pesticides and hand-held applications or there is a CS40-something which is for stump treatment in a forestry situation
  8. not tempted but two handled ascenders and two pantins? very quick but complicated, i have only ever climbed on srt type setups for installing pine marten and bird boxes, using the set up in your pics and its a nice easy set up that us fatties can use for getting into the tree easily,
  9. nope its the rating of the helmet for side impact, therefore husqvarna style helmets arent acceptable even with a chin strap
  10. im on the hot chocolate, rock and roll, new home for your barbies Steve?
  11. yep, they are very very good, love the fact that you can hear normal voices clearly, so if your talking to someone you dont have to take your defenders off, you just press a little button, which is easy in gloves
  12. ok they are absolutly awesome, but tbh im getting fedup of listening to the pogues, had them for 3days use hedge laying and they are good, using them on the atv as well, drown the saw (and the wife) completely out, love the press button that then applifies background noise so you can hear what people are whispering to each other across the yard! but cuts the saw noise out again as soon as you start off again, really rate them, will be interested to see how they hold out long term!
  13. is he looking to shift it all in one go, or would he sell smaller amounts?
  14. daubentons are always the ones to be wary off, and certainly the ones i seem to have most dealings with, had to rescue several, best bet is if you have to handle a bat for any reason wear leather gloves, much like the husky chainsaw gloves (not advocating this, but its something your likely to have in your trucks)
  15. think you had been lied to, i took 5 trees to get one hung up at least i didnt have to clear them up as their was a harvester behind us then i got my saw pinched as the one that hung up shifted, so spent the next 20mins getting it out again, but its all good, i still passed easily, as i went through the correct process of getting it out
  16. the chance of being sued is exactly why external contracts exist for this work, and why big companies like tescos and out of town shopping centers out-source the contracts to bypass their liability, so if you slip carrying your crimbo dinner out of tescos, its not their fault, it will be the third party contractor you have to chase for a claim,
  17. looks like hes roasting some nuts on the fire,
  18. per M2 is the norm, not sure of costs exactly, but base it on your time, and covering your insurance, also make sure how the contract is worded, as if your gritting it normally becomes your liablility if someone slips over on it, which is why many shopping centers outsource this work are you looking at a trailed salt spinner or something more dual purpose, (in which case you have to wash it down every day after finishing to stop it rotting.
  19. its only cos im to tight to put fuel any on the rayburn to heat the house up i have a load already split but im trying to string them out also, dont tell the wife but i have a heater in the shed, so she thinks im freezing my backside off spliting logs whilst really servicing my saws in the warm ,
  20. thought this was about the become the official arbtalk dear Santa letter
  21. still no snow here but its -4, so just had a cooked breakfast, sharpened my axe and now going to split a trailer load of logs to keep warm
