  1. great, just switched from watching him on Dave ja vu, thanks for the heads up
  2. i would say that looks like a good net full for £3 compared to what you see on most petrol station forecorts
  3. i use an invoice template in excel, dead easy it even walks you through the steps, and means it does the maths for you if you have seperate parts of a quote or invoice in the one document,
  4. that looks an interesting book! the only thing i can really remember is my old man and uncle running a huge mobile saw mill on the farm, when DED struck they used all the decent timber and had a huge creosote bath, and clearing large areas of woodland for agricultural intensification, they towed the sawmill on the back of big massey 2720, will have to try and get find pics as the farm produced all its own sawn timber, they spent all the winters either doing timber or parked up in an old ambulance with a gas stove in it, either felling with a big danarm or chasing pigeons round the farm
  5. sorry my bad, your right there, i meant 3/4 wraps on my dream ms460

    aspen 2

well until about 3months ago (when the price went up, and supply seemed to stop) husky were the importer of aspen, not its through anglo american oils none of the dealers near me seem to have accounts with them, as husky were the importer i cant see them having any issue with it use as it was badged as husqvarna for a bit,
  7. full wrap and half wrap are where the handle extends over the top as per the below pic of a half wrap ms460 rescue saw full wraps i have full wraps on my 372xp and 084 and quite like them
  8. first off do you have a budget and what size timber will you be cutting for firewood? as to a large extent this will decide which make/model and size you will ultimately buy

    wine

stihl cork saw this is the device used for commercial, harvesting off the cork, just trying to find the vid of it in use as it was quite interesting how its used
  10. i jump straight from 372 to 084 and havent opperated anything in the middle, although i have a strange longing for a modded ms460 with half wrap handles and a 30" bar on skip chain
  11. n reality i dont really get the brand loyalty, they both make good models and complete dogs, I know there are people that love their ms260s I personally hate them, doesnt feel comfortable of quick when using it compared to the 346xp. but i hate the feel of the big husky 3120 compared to the stihls 084/088 top handles stihl 40-80cc husky 100cc+ stihl
  12. dont forget its a topper so no using it on the ground, i think ladders are ok though as thats off the ground
  13. yep 18v with two batteries, stealth tree topping
  14. what about makitas? look handy saws
  15. Just after some info as i had a look at one of these today, really nice little alpine tractor, unfortunatly a bit under powered for what i am after really, just wondered if anyone had used them, had front and rear linkage and pto's and was just under 4ft wide with wide tyres on its back end! so has anyone come across or used one before? this is the best pic i can find online of one
  16. sorry thought it would be a starting point to see how much others offering the service were charging,
  17. i think if you search on ebay there are a few (at least two) people offering this service on their
  18. not helping
  19. dam this thread, it now has me drawn to ebay and range rovers, which is a dangerous combination, i have realised i could sell the 130 twincab and buy a rangie of a similar age and get change for a 4ltr auto hse with leather interior and cruise control, oh the comfort, oh the ability to do more than 70 on the motorway, comfort and speed, heated seat, cruise control im going to stand in the corner and write i do not need a range rover 400 times
  20. just repaint FAST over the road so people dont slow down under the tree, it will be fine, No if in doubt get it down, i was using a farm track last saturday morning moving equipment round and i said to one of the other guys i wasnt happy about one of the Ash trees that was looking a bit rough fair bit of decay in it, but still fully in leaf anyway the saturday afternoon it came over in a strong gust, snapped out about 5ft up the trunk, its going to need the 084 to attack it from both sides lucky that it wasnt a main road or that i wasnt under it when it went, been a bit of a wake up call that has.
  21. just for reference as well what was the bar and chain on the stihl? any idea, as if it was a 3/8 0.063 then the pro lite should have spanked it really due to being so much narrower kerf,
  22. i have the microlite bar on my smaller husky (340e) and i think its great, nice and light, definatly make cutting easier, and actually seem to be wearing better than my powermatch plus bars on the bigger saws, despite being nearly 3 years old
  23. i cant remember but i think its basically, straight fell, dog tooth cut, and the hung up removal with winch didnt really cover this, in CS32 other than avoiding trying to felling on top of other logs in a forestry situation, it isnt never come across this at all,
  24. you've sussed it now then! is that just red tape on the handle bar?
  25. i have used them in the past as well, for chains for my 084 a lot cheaper than local dealers, but i still try and support them where possible, but thats getting harder and harder, with the internet often being over 10% cheaper, which over a year on most kit is quite a saving,
