  1. i cant remember but i think its basically, straight fell, dog tooth cut, and the hung up removal with winch didnt really cover this, in CS32 other than avoiding trying to felling on top of other logs in a forestry situation, it isnt never come across this at all,
  2. you've sussed it now then! is that just red tape on the handle bar?
  3. i have used them in the past as well, for chains for my 084 a lot cheaper than local dealers, but i still try and support them where possible, but thats getting harder and harder, with the internet often being over 10% cheaper, which over a year on most kit is quite a saving,
  4. there was a holder a90, 65hp with a turbo for sale recently, guy wanted £3500+vat for it though which i thought was a bit steep for a tractor of that age really, maybe it was a bargin if they are so rare, but i couldnt find any info on it, and also i think the turbo was an aftermarket fitting, they sold it within 7days anyway! had 3 pairs of spools and front linkage (no pto)
  5. would be great til you get a bit with a great big knot in it! also what happens if it pulls the log back out of his hands and is flailing up and down, you have to press the emergancy stop on the steam engine?
  6. QUEST - At the heart of the action here you go its on the new quest freeview channel
  7. Ian your work is really top notch, everything you display on here is a really good quality, you should be really proud to be able to produce stuff like that, i just wish i had the space to set up a lathe, maybe in a few years time, the morter, do you know before you start on the lathe that the grain is going to be that good? or do you find a nice grain and work to when you start on the lathe?
  8. My relatives near Royston had a load of kit lifted the other day Josh, broke into the first place nicked a 12' flatbed ifor, second place my uncles two generators and some other small odds and sods, third place a house renovation and cleared it off all the tools, my uncles had only just moved the generators the day they were nicked so they were definatly being watched
  9. sorry but heli loggers is on,
  10. father in law likes his angle grinder, im not so sure on the finer sharpening aspect of this method, I use oregon, on a roller file when out, and every 5th sharpen or so put on an oregon guide to true everything up!
  11. get something with a big fuel tank for that kind of thing i think you need to be looking at 075/76 really or an 070/090 if your only going to use it really infrequently
  12. had an old rangie on grandparents farm with a 6cylinder perkins combine lump out of an old MF so probably something like the 6.354 engine in it, would only do about 45mph but it would do that up a near vertical hill without slowing down! awesome engine for power, not good for on the road though
  13. what are the saws? 346 and a 385?

    iphone apps

i use google maps on my htc, which is pretty handy if you get lost or arent sure where your heading, and you can switch between road map and aerial photo, and find addresses, is google earth/latitude a different app?
  15. supprised by the gearbox issues my mates two have 135k and 160k miles on them without any bother
  16. here you go Pete, you just copy where it says url and paste it into your reply on here, nothing fancy like adding pics involved [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEoc0QJcaRU]YouTube - husky chainsaw[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oix_l1SQlj8]YouTube - husky chainsaw[/ame]
  17. i think i have a new owners and service manual for a 595 somewhere in my box of bits also may have a 1000 speed pto shaft for it if you need one!
  18. i have a mate who works for murphys construction, they use the swb ones on site for towing bowsers and trailers round, he really rates them, they arent bad off road, i would consider one if i didnt really need my defender
  19. It could be a species of fly that is specific to that habitat, eg hawthorn fly, heather fly, alder flies etc etc,
  20. on now a bit on how competative tree climbing is becoming more popular
  21. the blasters are pretty serious race bikes generally, very fast, and most of them run on two stroke, the quadzillas arent to bad and are now cheap and have a reasonable parts back up, but they are a cheaper bike, the small hondas are pretty good the 90 is ok for youngsters all though the 250 is pretty good fun bike for most, although might have the over 16 age limit on it! kawasaki do a 90cc bike as well, which i imagine would be pretty bomb proof, i have used their utility bikes in the past, I used to have a honda 250 utility bike, and it was plenty quick enough, and would pull a fully loaded trailer of logs around as well, (and could be a possible business expense!)
  22. does that lift off your winch as well? thats a serious atv you have there now!
  23. looks exactly the same as one my mate bought for logs, real junker, had quite a few probs with it, for what it costs i would try and find her a secondhand decent one
  24. i voted no, cos they keep eating all the carp in my local lake,
  25. I would think there is over £700 worth of saws if you flogged them on ebay £150 each for the 192 and 200 £100 for the husky £200 for the 240 £100 a piece for the other two stihls which would all be low end prices if they are tidy then a couple of hundred quids worth of climbing kit on top
