  1. ahh you got me all intrigued now the wife is mid way through a planning court case at work as well so shes not to keen on having a weekend off, and i am off away for a few days this week as well so there isnt any way i can get down really
  2. Sorry guys not going to get down now, as im all over the shop at the moment and have to be in East anglia three times in the next month and unfortuntaly im not down when the show is on anyway hope the weather is good for you all
  3. yes a jungle muffler, fitted on the larger saws for certain markets where environmental restrictions dont mean a lot (like in the jungle!), therefore they are less restricted than EU and US spec saws
  4. I Just wondered if anyone on here had fitted a husky with a jungle muffler? or used a jungle spec saw, as im toying with swapping my standard pipe for one instead of modifying it myself, I thought i would see what the husky factory could come up with cheers Charlie
  5. here you go Alpine Tractor AGT835 artic on dual wheels +flail mower on eBay (end time 04-May-10 12:36:43 BST)
  6. Riko had a nice AGT835 on ebay last week, dual wheels just over £8k
  7. apparently im now listed on the committee for the local mammal group, which i didnt know before, then its just my work coming up and then my criminal relatives from about 100yrs ago then about 5 pages of the same, then there is some one with the same name who is a turf management professional,
  8. I contacted them via their ebay shop, they werent overly helpful and couldnt give me exact specs or supply the mounting bolts etc.
  9. track marshall, going to wear your thickest ear defenders possible and be prepared for serious ruts, there is a reason the ag boys dont want them anymore
  10. looks a very good course i toyed with the idea of doing it, I think Tractor Dave on here is doing it starting in Sept,
  11. Is that the Reaseheath course?
  12. no no no, what about his spotter who will have done the maths on mils drop, windage, curvature of the earth etc etc, not a mention of the brains of the set up, dialing the figures in and pulling the trigger is pretty easy if the maths is right still a hell of a shot though under pressure as well
  13. Congratulations sounds like you probably had a good background with the L/A anyway, as understanding how they operate will be half the battle, the reason i asked as i know one of the L/As round here interview last week as well
  14. nice one, wheres the job based?
  15. you can bring saws back in hold luggage if they are new, and the joy of most transatlantic flights is that you have a large baggage allowance, so i took one case to canada with me and the way home had a hand held stihl blower/shredder (SH56), a MS192T and filled the rest of the box with other goodies, also they seem to get more freebies when buying kit, I got a hard carry case for a rear handled saw chucked in with the 192T (£35 to buy over here) and a couple of bars and chains for it, as well as a Stihl timbersports cap, and a file set, this was in 2007 but the topper and blower/vac came to about £360 all in, then just wrapped it all in brown paper, and put it through the same as suitcase nothing to declare, as i had the paperwork signed by the stihl dealers, and they take all your details incase their is any problems, so if anyone ends up near whistler i can highly recommend Valley Chainsaw and recreation, in Pemberton
  16. A nice 10seconds worth of mid saw lunging there at the start Mick!
  17. not loving my defender today, its in the garage for new brake discs and pads allround, and the front prop bearing has gone as well, two rear wheel bearings need attention, not looking forward to picking it up later
  18. now thats not fair, having two mb tracs is just greedy
  19. thing round here is that some of the so called stihl dealers arent, they are buying in from other authorised main dealers, and as such they wont and cant offer discount, i was at an open evening of one of the dealers the other week, and they had stihl reps there and they would only sell you the items with something weak like 5% off RRP, i can get about 20% of with my local dealer, but only once i buy enough stuff from them, they cant be expected to sell everything below RRP to every joe blogs that walks in its about building a relationship up with them. That said i will use online sales if its not something urgent and i can find a decent discount, if its only a quid or so dearer then i will use the local dealers, as i can nip in and stock up on other kit and get help if something breaks
  20. really i thought chain speed was dictated by engine RPM and the drive sproket size, yes it will accelerate better but i dont think the chain speed will be any faster
  21. no restriction on mag size unless its a shotgun, then any more than 1in the chamber and 2 in the mag and it needs to be on a FAC semi autos in firearms are limited to .22 not even other rimfires are allowed i have 25 round mags for my .22 so when the bunnys are numerous we can adopt a spray and pray technique no i am joking really, i use them as when im lamping it means not having to faff about in the dark swapping mags every ten shots
  22. I have a couple of friends who have either .32 or .38 revolvers, for humane dispatch, not sure how you could have a semi auto pistol legally, unless you were in the forces there are loads of wierd FAC classes like section 5 for restricted weapons such as AR-15/M16 setups in semi or full auto that allow civilian gun smiths to work on them, Then there are classes like trophies of war, i have a friend who was in the forces in WWII and he has some lovely pistols (not de-acts)
  23. Hi and welcome, at last, no longer will i waste my hard earned cash by spilling aspen when transfering between the container and Combi cans which im sure has been offsetting some of the environmental benefits can you give us a ball park price on them, I assume it will come with the husky style oil can fitted or is it just the handle? also is there any provision for holding files, as currently i just slide them between my combi can sections on my husky can,
  24. The wording on the HSE note re the boragio flails makes me think that metal cutting heads should consist of only one part, if they interpret it the same way then that alloy head with the swinging blades will still be outside of the HSE's definition of safe
  25. hmmm different [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy5nJyXe55Q]YouTube - Coppicing - Mechanical[/ame]
