    The Talk

my mrs hates this website. you need to add some soft furnishings and she might come round.
  3. what about making a frame out of 2b2 tanalised wood and then drilling 9mm ext ply to it. sit it ontop of the side boards and strap it down.
  4. have you ever had any pop branches split out when they are on the crane?
  5. avoid the butterfly imo, not very comfy, cant wait to get rid of mine.
  6. if there is space to drop it, its getting dropped. if im not sure about the lean then a ropes going on it. it takes more time to climb to the very top and dismantle every branch. its probably safer to do it in smaller bits tho
  7. i drilled some small wooden battons to the inside of my pickup's wooden loadliner and then just slotted two ply sheets down the gaps.

  12. make sure the gob is level, if its not then it makes the back cut harder to get right.

    Tpo!

i agree but jobs arent always that easy to find. i think that a climber is within his/her rights to call a TO about a tree that he has doubts on. the customer could be the one who is lying. we dont all work for fine characters like yourself.

    Tpo!

the customer will get the biggest fine followed by your boss. get the number off the tree officer and call him if you are worried about a tree. he will tell you over the phone if its got a tpo on it.
  16. are you still running the kolher 25 hp engine? they have stopped sell thoses springs for the rollers. i was sold some that were meant to fit but only one side fitted. the side with those hydraulic motors on cant fit the new springs in the gap. so ive got a new one on only one side, it still has made a difference.
  17. if its dry it burns. its still a hardwood so i will sell it mixed up. i think you can get a bit log elitist, dry conifer makes good kindlering.
  18. if its knotted all logs are impossible to split with an axe. if they are clean splitters then i recon an axe is twice and fast. if people take turns i can to a load in an hour and a bit. back to the topic ash 10 birch 8 cherry 7 beech 6 plane 6 fresh pine 5
  19. im not really interested in doing the tickets. ive felled alot of medium/big trees so i dont see the point in getting the ticket. as for cs34 i was wondering as there is storm work around what techniques are involved. i take it its all groundwork right?
  20. havent done this ticket. anyone with info on whats invloved?
