  2. i like my entec, nice and light. my van would struggle with a bigger chipper when ive got a full load. the downside is the speed it chips at.
  3. i dont get much from my yellow pages ad. the area it covers is too big.
  4. thats why i wear a sleeve on my left arm. unlucky.
  5. if you are going to leave your tools on show then u are asking for it. ive had saws pinched off back of truck in seconds.
  6. anyone who says shihl hedge cutter are garage doesnt have a clue. ive used them day in day out for years and they are worth every penny. the new combi ones do cut out now and again when new but u have to give them a little time to wear in. i got mine a few weeks ago new, for the first week they did cut out alot but now they are fine. dont mess with the settings straight away.
  7. ive had 2 pairs of hiflex and will not be buying another. the fabric is poxy.

    Ax Men

id love to fell a tree with an axe, not sure if the customer would share my sentiments.
  12. its all down to greed as usual, the banks, the estate agents, the government are all to blame. the press arent helping either with the continual scare mongering. then they put up car tax? they are making a killing on the fuel going up as they get a % as opposed to a fixed amout on the tax on fuel. i think is around 50%. so were is all this money going? how can they justify it? we are ruled by the eu now anyhow and wasnt a referendum. w***ers.

    trees dying

as the land has been landscaped, maybe the trees have also been suffercated by the base of the stems being covered with soil, turf etc? if they have covered them with topsoil and the turfed upto the base of the stems this will cause suffercation right? they have also layed some type of crushed stone around these trees i take it this could also be causing the problem? if this the problem would it be too late for the bases to be cleared, if the tree is showing signs of distress with alot of leaves dying?
  14. ive started putting veggie oil in my estima. i think its looking grim, the banks and this government have f**ked it up for all of us. maybe some positives will come out of it in the long run. im getting by but the phone isnt ring that much. im off on holiday for a few weeks and will try to forget about it.
  15. constructive.
  16. just looked at a job near me and i was shocked at the trees health. you had about 5 mature syc's, a few oaks and a few beech. on all the tree the leaves were dying off and they all looked in decline. the ground was really water logged and appartently there was a sewage run off from a few houses near by that had been there for 6/7 years but i guess that it would be filtered correctly. as there were more then one species being effected can you rule out some kind of disease? apparently there has been no root damage done by landscapers, but the land had been cleared, maybe they used a weedkiller to clear the land but the area effected is quite large? does anyone have any ideas to look into?

i buy cheap beal 8mm for my flip line and liros 8mm for climbing.
  18. ive got an black army royal marine bag, its awesome. my husky bag lasted about 4 months total crap. i also recommmend the army ammo boxes for your tools, they are waterproof and bomb proof and only cost 6 quid.
  19. i hate pruning any tree that has been pruned really badly in the past ie pollarded. the old saying "u cant polish a turd" comes into force.
  20. just because someone has less overheads so can charge less doesnt mean that they are anyless worthy to win the work imo. it doesnt mean they are fly tipping pikies either, sounds like sour grapes to me.
  21. i put 7 stiches in my finger sharpening a saw without glovers, this was when i first started using a saw. dangerous things.
  22. fell the stem with a pole saw and then set fire to it. job done.
  23. snatching the top of a pop on a windy day. also climbing on regrowth of pops that have pollarded years ago.
