ive just set up on my own and went with the entec 25hp petrol. im very happy with it, it light, robust and reliable imo. look to pay around 4000 for one in good condition.
  3. count me in, be good to met up for a bit of tree geeking.
  4. i agree, nice work mate. yews are amazing, i hate touching them fullstop.
  5. i know completely useless, i will shut up.
  6. splicing, conservation issues, hazard awareness and some legal stuff.
  7. i cut thro a phone wire and have to pay the bill. the customer says bt wont invoice a third party and i want to put it thro my books as a business expense. whats the solution?
  8. i went with "sjw treecare", boring and forgetable. wish i had spent more time thinking about it. i think tree services sounds more pikey then care.
  9. forget twisty elm. i was thinking of first to split a tranny load. time lapsed
  10. the first video im going to post will be me vs a splitter.
  11. my ldv gets stuck on a bowling green
  12. i have owned a 260 with an 18 inch bar and i have to say its not really upto the job. if your wanting a ground saw for snedding limbs and felling small stuff then get a 260 with 15". if you want an 18" bar then get a 341, same power as a 36 but alot cheaper. i just got one off jonesie and its spot on imo. also stihl parts are easier to get hold of and are possible more reliable?
  13. are u talking about a splitter with these 4/6 blades thing? im talking about a single blade. i can out split one of those with an axe as long as the logs arent massive/knotted rings. fresh scots pine is a nighmare to splice unlike ash.
  14. very sad news, sounds like the resue attempt was by the fire crew from ladders.
  15. ive just started out of my own and its going alright. i have no intention of stepping on anyones toes and most people ive met in this industry have been sound. the odd few are dicks but thats life. get insurance, always do a good job, good luck.
