  1. Steve, I cocked up placing an ad. Like a buffoon I got it on there four times. Could you delete the first three attempts from you end. Ta

    Bets regards

    Jokes???

No I don't, that is why they got deleted without being passed on - no matter what I think of the person concerned. But you do raise a good point, what is funny and a subject that no one feels offended by.
  3. The serial number is 8247 and it is a GreenMech 1623 SafeTrac. The tracker worked for a bit then went off air. Bar stewards!

    Jokes???

I got sent a load of Goody jokes, I decided not to post them. Are they in good taste or not?
  5. 20 odd years ago I split my thumb down its length on a circular saw - from that day I have never been able to eat or handle chicken drumsticks! Nasty wound like that can take time to get over the pain from even small knocks, good luck and here is to a speedy return to work.
  6. If the rollers stop turning, it could be that the hydraulic pressure relief valve wants re-calibrating. If the are skipping and thus not pulling in, it may be that they have not got enough downward pressure or they could do with a bit a "re-edge". Occasionally chippers struggle to pull in if the blades are dull, the anvil/shear bar is rounded or the gap twixt blade and shearbar is too great. Contact Mike or Steve at Prochip, they are the importers.
  7. I ran one with live axles front and back. It was a county conversion which I was told cost upto 10k more than the standard truck. Later versions had IFS with reduced ground clearance due to the crash cage and mounting around the front diff. All IFS versions I saw were a single wheel axle and most were with the likes of East Midlands Electricity, STWA, EA etc. Mine was useful off road to a degree but on-road was a trifle noisy, thirsty and it ate front tyres. Iveco do a 4x4 version as do Merc and I beleive VW.
  8. I have to say that some of their practices' I thought were the acts of clueless buffoons. That self loading lorry was a hoot in its self and their attempts at skid loading looked rather amateurish. When they got to the mill, it appeared rather staged in that they did not even quibble with the agent over price. Good to see how they do it over there and I'm sure it is not a representation of true practice. No helmets, visors or muffs not withstanding of course.

    Jokes???

The wench came around the other night, complaining of a terrible day at work and she needed consoling. I smacked her with the XBox. I took her to hospital the other night with a black eye and a broken nose. The Doctor asked what had happened, I told him that she asked me for decking on the patio, so I did.

    new Toy

I might restore it to customised standard but not original. But paint scheme it differently. Stood looking at it last night thinking about the busted gearbox and I hope its not a body off job to get it out. The engine doesn't have much space to come forward and upward without a strip down. Yikes.
  12. I posted the other week reporting a bright yellow GreenMech 1928 SafeTrac stolen in Essex, the same outfir have had a GreenMech 1623 SafeTrac stolen from a railway job just north of London. Please be vigilant and report any new machines appearing on a site near you. I'll post the #number tomorrow.
  13. Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and best wishes to his family and the Timberwolf community at Stowmarket.

You cannot carry much woodchip, but it will tow the chipper! It is an Austin 16 from 1938 (I think), in 83 someone spent a bunch of money in turning it into a show car. Apparently it has won some shows, but after being left outside for some years, it could with a big box of TLC. Ford Transit front beam narrowed by 12" with Volvo shocks. Rover V8 and autobox and a chromed Jaguar IRS from a MK10. Interior is a symphony in Dralon with big seats (not to my taste) but is a bit tatty now. Front and back wheel arches have been widened and the roof has been deseamed. It runs okay (on 7 most of the time) but I'll have to renovate the gearbox as reverse and second have dissappeared. Apart from that and some minor electrical issues, I pretty sure it will pass the mot and may make it to Santa Pod for a RWYB for a fun pass or two!

Just acquired this for some fun this summer before a strip down over the winter.http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=12201&stc=1&d=1236524176
  17. Free blow automatic? could be "no stress" device. Mike or Steve at Prochip should know how to fix it.
  18. Pete, good to hear the Jonny helped you out in the short term. Better luck for the future. Cheers
  19. Best wishes to your mate, hope that he gets the kit back or has good luck elsewhere.
  20. Kubota V Lombardini? Generally speaking, manufacturers look at what is available, warranty, terms and all that stuff, then ask their buyers what they would like. Nowt wrong with the Lomardini, but most of you guys say that the Kubota is a fine engine so that is what gets fitted. We have used Lister, Deutz, Perkins and Isuzu in our range of chippers over the last 10 years and everyone was a good motor! Same as anything tho, you look after it and it'll look after you. Don't and it could make an expensive noise!
  21. Go for it. Edification is a good thing for all. Tips on splicing etc would be a benefit as well.
  22. Try looking at the vsrious V Dub sites. A Sand Rail used to be based around Beetle bits and kits used to be available from Kingfisher Kustoms as I recall. I'm thinking on the same lines as well, but to rip up and down Santa Pod. Go for it!
  23. I've known kit get stolen with all devices fitted except for large Alsation!
  24. Pass. But I bloody hope so - at £27K you cannot afford to loose it like that. The de-veg network is a close community so hopefully it will be found.
  25. Dunno. I might be cynical but it strikes me as bloody good spares and service work for the dealers. Hope I'm wrong and your not being abused.
