  1. Methinks that if one wants to run with the big boys, one has to learn to piss high!
  2. I had a customer who wanted a stool turned into a rabbit - it looked like a rat. I was glad to see covered in ivy! Nice work tho. Well done.
  3. Tinnywolf 150 with less than 100 hours.
  4. Ask Tom for a glass hammer left handed screwdriver bag of grinding sparks long stand pot of elbow grease bottle of pidgeons milk
  5. More articles on old kit and new kit. Do's and don'ts with machinery. Have a regular "day in the life of" section covering all levels, the groundie, climber, manager, supplier, office team, client officer etc. Updates on the law, ie - red diesel, waste carrier licence, waste transfer tickets, vehicle regs and so on. Medical hints and tips. Readers correspondance. Money issues like vat rules, PAYE. Emploment issues. Shows or events to visit.

I was talking to some guys from Brum City not long back and it seemed totally unfair that hard working skilled technicians who quite often did work they were not obliged, trained or paid to do have been reduced to taking industrial action because the goal posts are going to be moved. If the DLO puts the work out to contract then quite often the costs actually go up. But the council often see this as "best value"
  7. I was late on this one. I was going to say less than 750 hours. But you have to factor in the paint quality from the start. Jensen does vary in paint on some components. By the way, how many of you Jensen owners grease the rollers with spray grease everyday as suggested in the ops book?
  8. just the usual array of gate hinges, chains, muscet balls and bullets and bits of shrapnel. Did once watch NickHilton plank an Oak butt with a big blue stain. That turned out to be a horse shoe hung on a sprag some 150 years ago. The shoe did not have the nail holes in it, so we reckon that the Smith chucked or hung it in the tree and forgot it.

    Urgent!

Hurrah for that post! Only the dumb want to stop the responsible whilst the "feral scum" take not a blind bit of notice (or possibly laugh) at the end result and carry on as before. Out with Gordon and the rest of these irresponsible hipocrits that WE voted in!
  10. Just got in from work, did I win?
  11. I like Miss July. What a bird!
  12. Like a sausage in a shirt sleeve.
  13. "I respect your opinion, but I don't give a *&%$, do it my way"!
  14. One I read ealier "Quick, stick in reverse"! Heard that a few times.
  15. I've heard many people knock JCB tractors because they were a rebadge other make. BUT. I know one service guy who will be on your doorstep to service it while you are eating breakfast AND he'll still be at work whilst even I are having my first glass of wine. It's about backup and support. Any dealer or manufacturer will tell you that.
  16. GreenMech make a 6 inch power feed to hang on the back of anything with cat 1 and over 25hp at shaft. You need 12 volts for the no stress device and hydraulic flow and return. Send a PM if you want more info.
  17. There's always something that can be done. Service your chipper, check your ropes, mend all those tools that get put to one side. Or, just spend time with the family, go visit those older relo's that are at home always.
  18. Essential Arb goes with F&BT, so thats finished too. Be nice if you subscribers get a rebate or subsribtion to FMJ but the content is different and so is the readership and advertisers.
  19. Who has a subscribtion to the above, what's the news? I understand the FMJ have purchased them and shut it down. Certainly I undertand that Andy Birt has been made redundant. How will this (if true) affect the APF show?
  20. Fair plug that. NPTC is no licence, it is an indication or qualification of a test of competence passed - it does make you safe or indeed, good at the job. A family member has felled, dressed, tushed milled and sold more big sticks than many of us could shake a finger at, but, he has no qualifications. I've worked with people with qualifications who could not complete a job safely, competently or in a financially viable manner. Many training courses are available (BASE included) from many different sources, try talking to local firms to get in as a brash dragger whilst you get ticketed up then try many forms of tree work for the overall experience. Rail, utilities, local authority, domestic, clear fell they are all different but don't necessarily suit every surgeon. Best wishes.
  21. A rotund Northerner said on being ribbed about his gut. "Ho, they dinna put bay windows on sh##houses tha nose"!
  22. As welcome as a fart in a space suit.

    Kooch!!

I like the new avtar Arborist. Is that GreenMech green on a Tinnywolf - do you aspire to a greater machine?
  24. Send me a pm. I'll get one resurrected from a fairly dumb hire and you can try it. No obligation. It grinds stumps thats all.
  25. Fair play. I can only agree with that.
