  1. Cor, 40 is it, very best on that one. Did you have a big paper round, it must have been Sunday papers and blocks of flats with no lifts. You made me feel quite young! All the best and I hope you had a good day!!
  2. Heartfelt condolences to all that knew these poor kids.
  3. We all suffer from the occasional crisis. What matters is how the crisis is managed. I would rather be given an honest excuse for a delay or problem than be fed BS because the excuser to too lame or timid to face the problem. A heartfelt "Sorry" costs nowt and is very valuable.
  4. I've seen these load unloaders with Dick Robinson of Robinsons Trees. He might be at Capel this year (he was last anyway).
  5. if seated, a belt must be worn and ROPS and FOPS cage fitted. Schliesing @ 26k, hmm, 1928 cheaper, more power, bigger gob, better on slopes, better blades, better back up (if required) UK built, UK parts centres, multiple dealerships - the hits keep coming!!!
  6. GreenMech 1928 Safe Trac. Bloody good value for money. Damn fine machine.
  7. Defenders are the mutts nuts. Small cab, uncomfortable, noisy, thirsty, expensive parts....... Unbeatable off road, charisma, can carry a dent or two, load lugging ability, easy bolt ons, re-sale value blah blah blah. Tried the nips, hated them, run one now which has done 118k in two years without probs but still miss the Land Rover range. Had 5 or 6 different lengths over the years.

    chipper

Try the GreenMech petrol 15/23. 25 hoss Kohler, bonnet, 6x9 inch opening, greasable bearings, fantastic blade life etc for the same kind of money.
  9. I would've liked to be involved but I no longer climb and as a known salesman, people might think I'm biased. Come one fellas, get involved - it's your trade!

    trackers

Okay, there are several different types of tracker, but remember that space is limited on a chipper and try to hide it with steel and you create a "faradays cage" in which the transmitted signal cannot get out. Another thought is that, if its pinched on a friday night, the low lifes have all weekend to look for it and drop it in water. The best plan is prevention. We had a demonstration machine shipped to Ireland, the port authorities refused to let it on the boat because the paperwork did not include the bumpf from "Thiefbeaters".
  11. Thanks guys. Years ago I tried Reiki, or hands on healing. Don't know it works, but it certainly did. I'm a bit of a cynic to alternative therapy but I can confirm that ordinary painkillers have little or no effect, and the anti-inflam stuff gives me the gripes right bad. Wine and sleep are the best healers, gently exercise is also a must. Have a good weekend all.
  12. We're launching a new machine next week and I'm laid up with a really painful back ache. Loads of visitors to the factory on Monday and Tuesday, a meal and beer on Monday evening. A trip on a steam train, various machines being shown off and I'm as weak as a kitten, and I'm supposed to be demonstrating and because I know most of the visitors, I meant to be there with a smile on my face and full of humour!!! I can feel a short week looming.
  13. All chippers should have pretty well the same stickers. The only difference should really be that (for example) GreenMech have mechanical controls yet the TW has electrical controls. Try ringing Dave Turner at GreenMech and asking how much a set is for a GreenMech as a comparison. You might find that the stickers for safe use and correct maintanence are similar.
  14. True enough, but sometimes convenience beats mail order or chasing around.
  15. I have a routine when leaving house. Fags, lighter, glasses, money, keys (house and car), phone (charged spare phone) coat, jumper and work plan. Everything else should be ready already.
  16. I see that Landforce are still being marketed. I thought that Duncan Wordsworth of Barford Holdings had decided that he couldn't be bothered any more and scrapped the remaining few or did Tony Castle pick them up and make a go of it. I wonder how many a year they make compared with the others and more importantly, has the disatrous build quality and service/support been improved?
  17. I don't think that dent will polish out!
  18. Nifty I'm quite often at the Pod, either with or without the kids. Send me a PM and with a number and I'll call next time I'm there. Best regards
  19. They chip. Very heavy Agricultural build quality Apparantly parts can be a nightmare to obtain Tray under bottom roller fills up too fast Big gap between rollers and rotor Questionable safety bar. They chip
  20. Absolute Pants! wouldn't give it yard space.

    funny video

Brings back memories, used to sing that back in the late 70's at school. Boarding school? should've been boarded up more like!
  22. Get on Ian, all okay bar the car? Best wishes.
