I really cannot tolerate tv which highlights and thus promotes the fact that there are many people out there with no moral standards, scruples or respect and did not benefit from the educational system. My taxes are more than likely supporting then too.

Rob, did you buy that TW300? That has a slip clutch on the shaft, how is it adjusted and to what spec?

Probably worth doing a compression test too, does it sound like you have a cylinder head going?

What engine is it? If it is the V Twin Kohler, then on top of the engine you can spot a lever for the choke and one for the throttle. The throttle lever set up is also linked to another lever which when the engine comes under load should move, allowing more fuel into the carb. This would give it a "boost" and when the load is taken off of the engine then the lever goes back to its original position. It may be that you aren't getting enough fuel through due to de-laminated hoses, blocked filters or the carb could do with a clean. Do you notice any difference when engaging the clutch, if that sounds/reacts differently then you may have other issues such as a cross shaft or rotor shyaft becoming "tight". Has this lack of power suddenly appeared after going over to the "MultiTip"?

The place we stayed in for Saltex had a dead Chestnut come over in the high wind. When we got back the chap in charge told me that he had two old gimmers to cut it up and push aside and that anyone was welcome to it FOC. He also told me that there was a shortage of "people who could use a chainsaw locally"! To be honest, there is some works required at the place with at least one other chestnut awaiting "conversion" and I'm sure further work could be had out of the job. PM me with your details if you are local and want the stuff. Oh, Englesfield Green is not far from Egham, Surrey.

You say that head rpm is okay. If it bogs and stalls, yet the belts and tips are good, are you sure that the engine is good? Is the engine governor working and dumping fuel into the carb when you load it up?

The comment about a correctly adjusted slip clutch made me pause. What is a correctly adjusted shaft? How is it achieved on different machines? How often do you need to do it? I came across a unit and the gearbox had been ripped of It's mounting because the shaft was not set properly since new and information from the original supplier was not forth coming!

There have been some wise comments from many sources on this subject, I'm glad to say. A hoss power limit is recommended for a reason, it may be that that is all a certain component is rated too, or what is reasonably requested for economy. Running a big HP unit in 1000speed at a lower rpm certainly reduces the hp and strain on the machine ( and increases fuel efficiency and reduces noise pollution etc) and would be the way to go. A shear pin in the shaft is certainly a cheap weak link that should stop the chipper input shaft from knackering and a correctly adjusted slip clutch is another safety device. But, if you only need, say, a 9" chipper, why put waste input energy on huge HP? Why not match the tractor to the tool a bit like using a 880 with a 18" bar?

Kev, your 11th is at Saltex on a stand with the body rotating. The IOG have given GreenMech an award for innovation as well, so the machine will be featured in the background of the award presentation too. Oh, and their is nowt wrong with the disc blades either!

I would always encourage a buyer of used kit to take a few spanners and levers etc when they go to view a machine from an unknown source. If the seller is genuine then they should not mind you checking the machine. If possible, check out the machines history with the original supplier - they shouldn't mind either. Do not be fobbed off with excuses and remember, if it seems too cheap - then it is and for a reason. Walk away!

Try talking to Universal Bingham or I believe that Laski do one to hang of your digger, but like previously said, flow is the key as is the weight.

It really depends on how much flow you have if you are using the digger hydraulics, you can get an independent unit although at 200kgs, that is a bucketful!

Just a thought but, if you BC150 owners are experiencing overheat issues, try making sure that the radiator is really clean. If the problem still exists then I would be tempted to fit another radiatoe to act as another heat sink. My Hot Rod has another rad fixed under the floor to give extra capacity and surface area. An oil cooler might be a worthy investment too as that could be on the boil too!

I,ve had one for a few years now, the processing software is brilliant too. Even the kids find it easy to use and too be honest, I prefer the eye hole to the mini screen cameras. Good luck with it.
