  1. Drive to other stuff I've seen is by Vee belts. If drive totally went in an instant, it would lead me to suspect an safety switch has been activated. Did the engine die or was the drive lost while engine still firing? Has an hydraulic override been activated accidentally so that it could be dragged but not driven? Is there two drive motors fed by one pump? Check your hydraulic circuit to make sure that the oil is not stuck at a blocked filter or kinked pipe.....
  2. I met a girl back in February, after several years of being single and having some "recreational relationships", being with Carol actually meant something more than just a conquest. That was the high of 2012... The low point was the breakdown in the "father/daughter" relationship that will not heal... Good Luck for 2013 folks.
  3. I got a new wok. The best thing was giving presents to other people and having a peaceful time.
  4. My girlfriend's 16 year old son is into clay shooting, anyone know of a good place/club in North Nottinghamshire, close to Retford/Tuxford? Possibly even work to shoot?
  5. I think I got mine tonight! Good Luck everyone and Seasons Greetings to you all....
  6. We have a SWB 3litre commercial which was a reps tow tug for 4 years then it got given to the service team to use. It had a rake of problems early on - all engine or injectors, all sorted under warranty. The good folk at Heritage in Leicester told me that even though she is 10 years old, underneath is very clean and mechanically will last another 10 with no probs. They also said that engine probs usually get sorted under warranty despite age due to all the original hassles. Otherwise, they cost what they cost! Engine out to change the clutch? Best way in any vehicle in my opinion. 1.5 hours to get a 200TDI lump out of the front of a 127 I had years ago!
  7. Did the survey!?!
  8. If this is dead, it ain't all bad!

    Jokes???

I went with a girl whose parts were like plasticene, I don't think I got it in but I certainly made a good impression!
  10. Slings defoe! We also used to use the coal sacks that ee carried the kit in as protection for the anchor tree too.
  11. I've had both a County Transit with live axles and an Iveco 45.10 with the locking rear and centre diff with IFS. Both expensive to buy and run, not too goog either on or off road either I'm afraid. You lost payload, on-road stability, speed and economy, they chewed through expensive tyres and still got stuck! You did get a bit closer than a standard truck but the Defender 130 single cab dropside was best. The two trucks have long been in truck heaven but I still see that 130 and she must 17 or 18 years old now.
  12. Interesting point to this thread.... What do you take in yours? Me? Hot water only - but I always had supplies of tea, coffee, packet soup and a sachet or two of hot chocolate! Spoilt for choice then....
  13. Fair play to you all! Fantastic news for you and your family....I hope life goes well for you....Happy Xmas!!!
  14. Pete Morris at Cotgrave, Roger Lander at Moira, West Coast at Mansfield, to name but a few! When I can, I'll send you a pm with better details or ring me on 07774 282481.......
  15. Acorn are looking for 12 staff to service the 5 year contract that they have in Peterborough. Contact rt400, or call 0800 093 3898 and ask for Kevin O'Rourke.
  16. I still come across machines which do not comply with H&SE regs, I hope you new machine does....
  17. Or putting your hand into a circular saw doing logs! Was a mess at the time but works okay now......20 odd years later.
  18. If he did make it himself, then it carries many features a design clues of a Chinese chipper! Just about everything else he does comes from there.....
  19. I saw these a while back..... Please.... stick to the Main stream....
  20. Bigger than the last time we met apparently! How's you Ian?
  21. Some fat bugger who is looking his age! To be fair, I had a dose of man flu that week and I never was photogenic - even in my prime!
  22. I thought that I would lob up a few pictures from the recent GreenMech Factory Tour which seems to have well received by those attending. I decided to post them here rather than in "Pictures" as they are specifically to do with machinery!
  23. I thought that the usual places (Barrow and 'Sorrel) would be shut, but where is that Ben? I see that the A6 at Hathern was shut and it was wet by Zouch and past The Planks at Kegworth. Only the second time I recall it wet there since 1982..
  24. It was one of the (many) things my ex wanted to cite me for in the divorce!!! Unless it can cause sleep apnopia or marital grief then why bother trying to change? My girlfriend hasn't complained even when I drown out the TV!!!
