  1. This is something that we used to make a while ago at the GreenMech factory. It is called a Turner Ranger and could be gas powered, cabbed and have front or back (or both) linkage and drive. This is a top spec one. Fitted with a mid mounted Mini engine (lengthways) and drives through two Triumph Herald diffs in Mini front sub-frames, so twin steer and four wheel drive. Gas powered ones could be used indoors etc.Top speed of about 12mph but hell of a towing ability if it could get traction. They got sold to carpet warehouses, film companies (used in Dr No), I believe that they were trialed by the Navy as aircraft tow tugs and so on. Not a big seller as they cost a fair amount - maybe 400 sold!
  2. Stuart! Make space in your inbox!,,

Refreshments are available so come along....
  5. As a rough rule of thumb, 35hp is 3.5ltrs per hour, 50hp is 5ltrs per hour!
  6. Are you getting max throttle? Are your belts tight?
  7. Hmm. It isn't a GreenMech (or greenmesh), but a Gandini. Made in Italy and sold in this country by Graham Satchwell at Chippers International. Turner World Mowers where the importers but, when they ceased trading, GreenMech had their stock and this was one.GreenMech used some aspects of this design and very quickly changed the rest. I got my first GreenMech earlier than 96 and it did me proud upto the end of tge 90s. Incidentally, gas the owner of the Gandini updated it to tge correct H&SE specifications?
  8. As the title says!
  9. Who will be the winners and loosers this weekend? (Apart from me, I got house guests, so ignoring them all aft ain't on,)
  10. The secret to burning! Burning should be taught in college as it can be an art! Start building your fire with a good "bottom", dead sticks and build up to logs then green stuff with butt ends to the winward side and all stems parallel. As the centre burns, pull out the butt endsvand chuck into the middle. The wind should blow the heat and flames through toward the back. Keep pulling the eides and front out and placing on top and in the middle. Remember, butt into the wind and stems parallel. It will burn. I've built huge fires, once burning 17 mature trees on a fire in a day on a fire no gigger than a double bed!
  11. Jeez! You too? Sorry to hear it, any theft is awful....

  14. "Go for the ugly un's son, they are more grateful!"
  15. Brutal raid. So sorry to hear it. I hope that you have a speedy recovery from it. Ditto previous views on the future welfare of those responsible for the theft and the future users who think that they have a bargain
  16. "Go and ask your Mother,".

  21. Tigers. Currently down half the first team to play 6 nations! Top team! Twelvetrees' nickname when he played for Tigers was "36". The captain was Geordan Murphy who is Irish, when he shouted his name it came out like 12 3s! Class act!
  22. France v Italy.... Wow! Bloody good for the Italians! Marvelous game, right the last minute....
  23. Some years ago, a similar thing happened to a good friend in his Lancia Delta 4x4. Tried to claim but it was thrown out as "if you didn't see it, you were going too fast, "....
  24. A Cat contains platinum, therefore they are worth a load to unscrupulous smelters! Pipe cuttersbor cordless grinders or saws make some vehicles easy targets, especially 4x4 types because of the underbelly ground clearance. One possible way is to have a friendly welder shove some weld or weld strips along your pipe where it be easiest to attach a pipe cutter or get to it with cordless kit.
  25. RBS 6 Nations is on! England against Scotland now! Currently 16-8 to England. Our center half is Billy Twelvetrees whose Dad is a tree surgeon in Sussex!
