  1. I changed phones and in the advice of the man int shop, went from Orange to EE with 4G. Dont use the phone for much bar calls and txt with wifi and a tablet at home, there wss no need to use the phone for much else. After many months of dropped calls and txt messages not sent, the supplier found that the handset was faulty and replaced it. While doing that EE tells me that unless I use the phone to access the internet, I was sold a pup! Signal still no better and a week later of tests and trials, they have to semd a signal booster out. This came with no instructions and that took a further week for them to activate it! I asked the supplier why I had been sold 4G when I dont use it and what the difference in cost is and their response was "I shouldn't worry about the couple of pounds per month and anyway, Orange are shifting their clients onto EE anyway!" Because of this attitude, come renewal time, it will not be EE or Phones 4 U again.
  2. Top response! I like it when a gem of info of this quality turns up! Thankyou good Sir!!!
  3. Not an expert on tthese and wasn't there when it ceased to operate. Fresh fuel after being run out (it did for a bit on the new tank full). I would have thought that the safety switches would have prevented it turning over and I can get a good spark from the HT lead to the manifold and it feels like movement in the solenoid under the bowl too. So a bit confused!
  4. Caz's ride on will not start. It will turn over and produce a spark, but I cannot get it to fire. Fuel appears to reach the carb and the solenoid on the carb appears to click but the beggar will not go! Any clues, it is a 12.5hp Briggs IC engine.
  5. Or you could cover it in glitter, but it would still be a turd.... put your dosh down as a deposit on a new nachine and get what you want with warranty!
  6. What are you after? Sub 750kgs? 6" class or bigger? Tracked, towed or tractor owered?, new or used? How much of a budget do you have? Give us a clue please!
  7. It is a GMR1OO, well spotted. I'd have been tempted to strip the chipper and chuck it in the car (Freelander?), and "lodge" the trailer at a near to property only to return with the spare! so to hear of your ill fortune, good luck with your purchase.

    Jokes???

What is the difference between chickpea and lentils? I certainly wouldn't pay £250 to have a lentil on my face!
  9. We make our blades in batches, under copyright, and any copies are an infringement of that copyright and also go against the patent too. As we have no control of their quality control, we wouldn't recommend them, eitber as a supplier or sharpener! If ought goes wrong and your machine suffers consequential damage - are they going to help put it right? At £39.50 + vat per blade, that would cost Justin around £160. I was paying £330 per set in the 90's for another make! I borrowed a flat blade for a german made machine off of Doug Bennett and that was £140 back in 2003! Our blades are on the shelf and available overnight (generally), and that sought of back up and support may cost! If it ain't on a shelf in Sheffield, they can be half price but no good to anyone!
  10. Nice one Shane! Justin, get originals from your local dealer! They are cheap enough anyhow.....
  11. I think this is such a tradegy! It could be such a useful piece of kit in a few different markets, but no seems to do much with it! Good luck Charlie....
  12. Turners didn't bring in anything that size - I doubt Gandini (or many other European firm) did owt that big! Couldn't help with the other request for info but a call to Graham Satchwell of Chippers International would do no harm. He is an informative sort of gent and been around Gandini since dot. Good luck Tom.
  13. Tidy Job and good advertising! Shame about the old dear though - terribly mis-informed about things, that Lime was never 200 odd years old and I bet the planners would have loved to have left the tree for their own PR!
  14. I ran a couple of twin cylinder Echo saws in the 80's, mid size with 18" bars. A good tool to be honest!
  15. I heard of the boot leather thing, antiseptic wash and good for calming stings from jellyfish before. As well as the nitrate thing and the leather tanning ingredients also.... A mate did tell me that he used to take a tiddle in the bath, especially if his wife was following him in as it was good for the skin! Mind you, he had got out first!
  16. ILH is associated with Orange Plant who have a rake of tracked machines, you could also ring George Brown Implements at Leighton Buzzard, they have a hire fleet too.
  17. You could get a brand new GreenMech 130 for that. Tracked? Hmmm....I got a used 150 tracked (1 year old) for 18k if that helps.
  18. New belts "bed in". They made need the tension adjusting manually - which is down to the users, and might need checking every few hours for the first 6-8 hours. They may be adjusted automatically, but the adjuster still needs room to travel, which may need monitoring. Pulleys may wear in the long term and they need monitoring as once the V belt is running on the pulley bottom, they have no grip or drive. V belts can run slightly out of line but that creates heat which in turn softens the belt and the wear can accelerate. I would not have thought they would be covered by warranty and I would look for the reason for their failure. Incorrect alignment from new would hint to a supplier issue, incorrect tension may be a user issue. Belts are reasonable cheap, but I would try to ascertain cause then ask for guidance.
  19. Hey Dave, good luck on your hunt. Rob, top marks for being able and willing to offer the man a go.....
  20. September, I went from Orange and a 4 year old HTC to EE with 4G on a Sony Experia. Anger finally got triggered today with poor reception, dropped calls and txt only to get told that I never really needed 4G for my needs and EE blame the handset and the providers blame EE! Anyone else find dealing with phone people tedious and annoyed by promises not met?
  21. Top work! I'm jealous of your talent and opportunities. Keep it up....
  22. I found an old invoice book when I moved house and was surprised how little I charged for work back in the 80's! But I still remember the satisfying feeling that it was honest toil and planned for the future! Good luck with your endeavours.
  23. Welcome to the forum Karl and good luck with your endeavours! Karl also handles the sale of new GreenMech woodchippers in North and East Yorkshire, Northumberland, Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway. For all other areas, go to the GreenMech website and use the dealer locator. Karl's mobile number is 07904 950773.
  24. Pete Haines knows his way around mechanical things or try ringing a few plant hire firms.
  25. I know that man! Him from Honley you mean, him with a GreenMech QuadChip? I'll vouch for Kev!
