  1. Plenty of good tips on using a Wee Chipper if you care to read the thread from end to end......but you will a bit of time! We took pictures of ours in a standard height Transit van years ago!
  2. It is a Honda powered standard 130 with a bracket and tank filched off if a forklift! Goes well apparently!
  3. Which dealer? (PM if you want), list on a QuadChip is £18,365 and a 130 is £11,480 less what ever discount and plus vat!
  4. We are doing gas powered hybrid chippers for an export order!
  5. A lot of small diesel engines will not meet the future emission regs, GreenMech, Timberwolf, Jensen etc will be in the same situation in that our favoured engines for the sub 750kg range will not be available. Buyers look like they will have to accept lower HP diesel or go to petrol. We have a 37hp petrol unit for testing and it kind of makes sense as pump petrol is cheaper than white diesel!

It is a shame that such measures have to be taken, the punishment doesn't suit the crime.
  7. Alan Oldfield at Beaver Plant in York has a fleet of tracked machines, mainly Jensen and GreenMech but also has a large Bandit . Try him.
  8. Just an update. It is still in the garage.......they serviced it as per the book at 120k miles, they did close to 900 in road tests in between faults, took it on the standard road test that they do following routine servicing and the light came back on! Even Ford are stuck! New engine, new DPF, new sensors, wiring checked, injectors checked, new service and ECU checked and no one can explain what is wrong......Bristol Street have it a total of 10 weeks we think! Bizarre and infuriating.
  9. Hyundai are badging a load of gear at the moment, from compressors to chippers and generators. I doubt whether any of it has been near Hyundai factory but came from the far east.....
  10. Congratulations on the award, well deserved and hard won! A fantastic team effort.
  11. Floating blade? What exactly do you mean? Does the hydraulics react to pressure lowering or raising the arm as you pull the bucket across the ground?
  12. All right you clever shite, I missed that!
  13. As said, check that the levers are okay, check that the spool is getting travel too. Worth checking oil level of n hubs as low oil or bad oil ain't good!
  14. I would have ditched the friction set up as it can be a dark art setting them up and gone for a standard AX shaft with bolt!
  15. Interesting belt drive arrangement on the grinder!
  16. Happened to me too on a demo just the other week! I laughed big style as a huge load of conifer flew up in a mushroom cloud! Tightened the clamp up fairly fierce after that.
  17. Sounds worrying to stall the pump to get belts smoking!?! The hydraulic circuit should have a blow off/safety valve that would not allow the pump to do this! Is the return filter clean and oil in good nick?
  18. We took two off our QuadChip when we made it easier to get to the nipples. Cannot see the point of remotes when access to bearing is good enough to go direct!
  19. Paint the drive red!
  20. Give GreenMech a call on 01789 400044 and talk to Jason! Off memory, if you are lucky, clean out the Allen headed bolts using a pointy thing through the blade holes, shock them with small punch/hammer then undo with an Allen key! If you are unlucky, remove rotor, puddle weld a nut to c/s bolt and und with spanner! Fit new bearings while rotor is out and ask to borrow the alignment tool if your hydraulic pump is mounted on the alloy housing.....
  21. Which are the shafts turning John? You may need a rotation changing gearbox ontoa layshaft with another pulley. Bit of fab work and maths......
  22. £175 the pair?
  23. Blimey! I was pro Isuzu after 264k miles with one for a GreenMech tow tug but now I'm not so sure! When they replace this Ranger, Ford will not be invited to the party either!
  24. What about your spot Jeremy? Your near too aren't you? How are things anyhow?
