  1. I run a 13/16" on ms260's 20/25" on ms460's, and sometimes the 30" (which it pulls round ok) from my long gone nicked 064
  2. I wouldn like to say .......but i found your website (pricelist) searching google a few years back and I brought my austria duo 2 harness from you because you were offering the best price by a mile..if i remember around 40 odd quid cheaper or so than anyone else at the time!
  3. Unless your local saw shop is good on service and knowledgeble its worth shoping online. If you know what you want and can be bothered you can save £££££'s. Alot of shops these days are just glorified garden centres in if for the huge mark-ups they put on many arb products. Basically I shop wheres cheapest for climbing/rigging stuff and buy/haggle with my local shop on saws to match or at least get near to any online/catalogue price which they generally do.
  4. Looks like a good read. Who knows what we'll be saying in another 30 yrs looking back.
  5. Stihl now sell hp super in 5L cans, I just brought some which works out around 3.95 +vat/L (with discount)
  6. Running at 25/1 is a stinking horrible mix. 50/1 is bad enough when hedgecutting or cutting in close to conifers and getting slowly gassed. Stihl dealers recommending 25/1? . Think i'd change dealer.
  7. Always list all the work your gonna undertake in a quote then everything is in black and white. If you dont some people can be right bastards and start adding stuff. Also include your terms and conditions i.e payment time ect. And if its a commercial job never start until you have confirmation in writing accepting your quote and conditions.
  8. You actually found the only person in corby who could afford to pay you...and you wernt mugged in the process..amazing Corby Tourist Information Video:scared: [ame] [/ame]
  9. sounds like exactly the same as the peice of crap ,that is my hedgecutter.
  10. The new inner fabric in the latest hiflex is the same uncomfortable cheap crap they use in their forest wear. I hate that stuff its like wearing plastic onion sack on yer legs. The originals had decent quality lined polycotton.
  11. Im not there yet, but the 4mix hl100 ive got refused to start most the time although it idled sweet at full throttle it overreved and missed. Even after tweaking I find they dont run great.
  12. Ive got those exact same bolts from saturn. when i brought a load of blades...yeah the ends are roughly filed.. big deal? ..its a bolt and does exactly what it says on the tin.

    I hate these

Ive just found another company selling total stihl ripoffs, there must be so many counterfeit out there. Not sure on the model looks like someting between a 361 and 441. Though you gotta buy 200 at a time if you really want one. No doubt they have plenty of takers. Think i'll give them a miss. http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/jamezhang/product-detailwqlmrIKTHfWc/China-Chain-Saw-JZC720-.html

    I hate these

Like many things in china its their version of a branded product. The crappy stickers are done by the ebay sellers to counterfeit them, or so it seems. Made by Ningbo Interstar that particular saw is a PN5200 has a 50cc engines running at a 25:1 mix, so dont all rush out to by one:thumbdown: But if you are heres the site http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/nbinterstar3/product-detailgoqnsjUbAEiy/China-Chain-Saw-PN5200-.html
  15. and the rest and if its too small go here.. http://www.treemettlenexus.com/pdfs/rules_%20for_riggers.pdf
  16. some good info on riggging using double esterlon from 'rules of thumb' for riggers
  17. I sort of agree with some of your ranting mani. and I cant understand why no one thinks it might be bad technique. Anyway the lowdown is being ultra-critical of some one elses work just pi$$£$ others off, and so it should. So take a deep breath, chill and remember if you start on the offensive people will wanna shoot you down and it all ends in handbags a 20 paces which is all really dull and boring and the thread turns to sh!t just like this one has....
  18. Stuff what craps below, first thought should be on personal safety. Each to their own but using rigging methods like that might one day end up with the climber having a friction burn of the century.
  19. when you carry a picture of your favorite chainsaw in your wallet :scared1:
  20. Beech dont respond well to being butchered. I'd give it A+ for top quality pikey workmanship. ..Though of course anyone could have mangled and I'm just being prejudice..
  21. You could try Maurice Finch down the road from you in West Haddon. http://www.mauricefitchtreeworks.com/

    Ouch

Normally if you ring the bits up fresh from being cut the wood dries too quick and your stuffed. Best to seal the ends in longer lengths leave for a yr or so then log em up. If the logs are fresh cover them over with plenty of old carpet to keep the humidity up so they dont shrink too quickly and keep your fingers crossed. I tend to cover blanks with waterproof pva glue to slow the drying down evan more.

    Ouch

From what I remember they were knocking out kiln dried 12"x 2.5" puzzle bowl blanks for £15 at a craft fair and 16"x4" for £20 upwards Money to be made if you find the right market.
  24. treediver

    Ouch

keep the wood and flog it to a woodturner or cabinet maker whose gonna put it to use as you cant readily buy it due to an international trade ban.

Agreed. Music beyond reproach Though they do look perfect for a job working the streets ... :scared1:
