  1. Anyone can apply for work on tpo's/conservation areas trees . He's put himself down as agent so he gets all the feedback/notification of works and being a surveyors probably thinks he knows whats best for the trees... usually felling Just dont work on them before your sure the all clears been given.
  2. i know the answer but never put it into practice
  3. Batten down the hatches ..lock all the doors!!!! Hide all your rotten veg The enemy walks amongst us....
  4. ms200t 14" ms260 16" ms460 25" brought brand spanking new today! did have a nice collection built up over years from 018-066 but those shithead pikeys cleared me out so now ive just got the essentials to start my 'collection' back up.
  5. I just read some of their guides on fruit trees...Absolute crap and total mis-information. What retards get to write this nonsence all of it is like the ramblings of a clueless idiot.
  6. Why on earth did entec decided to use torx bolts for their blades? - their a pain to pick out all the bits which get compacted in - the heads on them are obviously prone to being stripped..or at least easily damaged. Im gonna change all mine to hex if i can find any.
  7. garden hedges are normally exempt
  8. The bastards want their hands chopping off. I had all my saws and hedgedcutters nicked last month by thieving pikey scum. Never see em again . Hangings too good for them. I hope they burn in hell for all eternity!
  9. Have any of you guys or gals ordered anything from totalarbs shop, and if so was the service any good or it drag on for ages.

You can still buy it online from Stanton Hope along with a good range of other agri spec chemical. http://www.stantonhope.co.uk/shop/default.asp
  11. I think we all do this job for the love of it. There are far more easy "Totally Mind Numbing Boring" ways to make money, easier, faster, without no where near as much initial outlay and everything else we all know and moan about. BUT the thought of spending most of my life stuck indoors waiting for the 'weekend to come' etc.. is a grim thought. If I wasnt in tree work i'd it would be some other outdoor mayhem.
  12. If the company employing you as a subcontractor are part or the CIS scheme then you'll have to register with the tax office for CIS status. The card they issued has been scraped now but if you dont register then normally the company cant pay you until youve given them your details. If you work for a large company on any constuction site "most of the time" they will want your CIS info.
  13. HMRC seem to pick more on people who do their own books. The few people I know who have been investigated did their own..and in one case had a knock on effect for all those who employed (the idiot) in question, by being summoned down the tax office for "interview", after finding out that he wasnt declaring much. Tax investigations are horrid and go through your (and possibly others) entire finances digging up everything they can. Thats why I use an account.
  14. For those of you self-employed who have Employers Liability, when applying for ins quotes do you have to submit qualifications of all the subbies who work for you, or do you just say you want EL to cover (chainsaws use etc) based on your turnover and the max people working for you at any one time. Some companies seem more specific in terms of info they want.
  15. A farmer where I used to tip firewood was so sick of his barns and storage containers being broken into he wired up some old unused bird scares inside his containers, 170bd of shear noise pain. Not sure if he had any success tho, but your not gonna hang around with those going off every few seconds.
  16. you can download buckinghams port-a-wrap instructions from there website http://www.buckinghammfg.com/productwarninginst/productwarninginst/instwarnings%20pdf/601INST.pdf Not many companies seem to publish instructions as they probably expect you to know how to use them , which is useless if your not accustom to a particular new product etc.
  17. Hate that feeling of "arrrggghh ...what was i thinking!!!!!" But at least no matter how skilled or experienced you are its good to know everyone screws up now and then....apart from those who are in league with the devil.
  18. Thats the $64000000 question. Practice, trial and error...plenty of error! All depends on your setup, overheads etc. Start by working out how much do you want to take home in your pocket after outlay per day? 100..200 £300.. more??? (greedy) How longs the job gonna take...? I could go on...basically everyone has totally different circumstances so its a difficult question. Experience . No one ever told me how to price jobs, but you soon know when youve screwed yourself or got it right. If there was an easy way, maybe everone would be self employed or run a business.
  19. I thought the rigging article in essentialARB was really good and was pi$$ed of when they didnt follow up on it the following issue.
  20. Think there one and the same. Behold...my stinky boots They soon loose the nice suede finish once you cover them in wax, take a while fit your feet, and are abit chunky. But there still in one peice and nothings fell off them..yet.
  21. Ive had mine for 18 months or so and their still in once peice apart from the odd annoying silky saw nik. The padding has flattened abit but a decent pair of walking socks cured the problem. Hardest wearing boots ive evey had even if they do look like moon boots.
  22. I'll have a copy when you get your scans done. Not sure about copyright scaning entire books on a public forum...but i'll still have one. Cheers.
  23. If the scans files are too big i dont think it will accept them.
  24. Think i'll have a bash at whackin em straight, then when that fails i'll scrap em.
  25. Try treesource if you have no joy. There sometimes a bit more than amazon, but its all trees. http://www.treesource.co.uk/acatalog/Tree_Planting__Maintenance___Management.html
