  1. If youve been doing alot of cutting and your chains are totally impacted and gummed up with resin/pitch, smear swarfega (or the much cheaper generic equivalent!) and leave them for an hour or so. Then it should just wash off.
  2. Ta for the good advice. I know its not rocket science but nevertheless i need to get upto speed with loler.
  3. Just wondered what methods everyone uses to identify and record all their climbing / rigging kit... if any...to make it simple for those loler checks.
  4. Enough of the double entendre's... We all know that scarifier is one of those Japanese models, produced by the Eichy-Fanii Corperation Tokyo

  17. My old boss use to hire in assessors for cs38 30 & 31. If you already know the schedule and are confident with whats expected then why give ££££££££ to some college/provider.
  18. Could'nt you train him yourself and just hire an NPTC assessor for the day to pass him.
  19. I use a drayer austria duo2 so dont have such problems..but if youve already paid for the item i'd ask for an immediate refund. Supplies have 30 day by law to deliver you the product when distance selling (internet phone ect).
  20. I looked everwhere for this DVD. Theres only a few places sell it in the uk and its not cheap. But thats whats you expect from a training aid like this. Proclimber sell it http://www.proclimber.co.uk/catalogue/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33_59&products_id=301 Bloody expensive from there. Direct from the ISA us shop http://secure.isa-arbor.com/store/The-Art-and-Science-of-Practical-Rigging-P268C40.aspx But finally go to http://www.totalarb.co.uk http://www.totalarb.co.uk/cgi-bin/products.cgi?fa=catlist&pid=60&cmpid=54&cmrid=1 They are waaaaay cheaper than proclimber ..over £100.00!!!!!!!!! and at £115.00 you wont find this dvd anywhere cheaper. Its even cheaper than buying direct from the ISA even if your a member. The book comes with the DVD aswell.
  21. Cheers for that ..think its worth getting a few quotes this time as ive got in the habit of sticking with algarve/lycetts in the past. Now there seem to be an explosion of companies wanting our business.
  22. Just got the dvd which goes with that book last week. Also well worth every penny. 4.5 hrs or so of quality viewing.
  23. Can I be cheeky and ask in the region of what your paying for that or what sort of coverage youve got. Im with lycetts and currently pay around £1200 for 1m Pl 10m el - but that dosent cover chainsaw use for el.
  24. There just a few scratches on the fins and rotor. Think i got off very lightly. Did'nt hear a thing and only realised when we noticed it stopped pulling the stuff through.
  25. Carry spare chipper blades with you and dont chip bits of old ironwork as your blades end up looking like this. caused by a small chunk of metal inside a willow branch.
