First a mini vase turned in yew and the a bowl turned in holm oak. Both finished with wood wax.

Beautiful craftsmanship there Just a few thoughts : would it need side supports on the legs as when you get on a chair and slide forwards and backward there are forces pushing on the legs?? Also the small supports on the front of the chair i would of steam bent it abit just to go with the flow of your chair, just a few thoughts like i said -
For something like that i would pay £20-£30 depending on how far i need to travel but to me its just a pile of wood with nothing done to it. What makes me angry is when people add the word woodturning/carving in the description they think they can add an extra £100 or so to the price, when its me or other turners who turn it into something beautiful. Rant over (rant not aimed at anyone here)

Not all woodturners are tyre kickers, so to speak . As firewood and cordwood is at a premium its harder to find a bargin for woodturning bits. Also people ask for stupid prices , so therefore they get a stupid response back. So if no one local wants it split it for firewood as delivery or collection will also be a killer.

Holm oak has a lovely grain, i would definately try and make something from it other than firewood. I've turned a few bits in holm oak and come out nice.

Try advertising on Arbtrader ,you might have better luck selling. Oh and lots of pics works too.

Fair enough:001_smile: i've had farmers say sc has lasted 30-35 years as fencing even in boggy areas and still going strong, but each to there own i haven't had much experience with robinia so not to sure on the longivity . Good luck with your search

Your best bet is to find a local supplier and try some on some have setups so you can hang from a rope too, as what is comfortable for one is not for the other. Welcome to AT

I've got the new vertex vent, feels really comfy and solid can't understand why i haven't brought one before.

I've always used the mesh visors on the helmets as i find goggles don't last very long and get steamed up quickly.
