  1. So if this is the criteria so to speak, arn't you singling out the newbies ?? So people like pault who commented on here won't get a chance.
  2. Might me a silly question but are you wedging it as you go along ?? I ask this because there are more bar marks on the last bit you are cutting and if not the weight of the wood would be pressing on the bar, hence the marks at the end of wood. Just a thought:001_smile:
  3. I would get something like a predator stumpgringer in and grind away, suprised that wall on the right hasn't fallen over yet looks dodgy to me.
  4. To much of a lean towards wall, or blocking satalite signal
  5. I use rowan to carve spoons, walking sticks. Rowan jelly for the berries a dye with the bark. Rowan use to be used for ship masts and poles, whips.
  6. I use to charge £5-£6 per " or hourly rate which was always rounded of to the nearest hr.
  7. Danish oil is good but I would only use it outside as it does have a distinct smell especially indoors, just my opinion tho some people love it and some hate it. Wax is good but can get expensive depending on size of project. I use a beeswax\raw linseed and turpintine and mix into a paste or instead of beeswax a carnuba wax which is very hardwearing.
  8. That i can not answer at only ever used ear defenders and i dont know how good ear plugs are. Maybe a ear plug thread I suppose its down to dessabells the saws give out and what ear plugs can take, i have used ear plugs on woodwork machinery and haven't found a decent pair yet
  9. couldn't of answered better myself bob , If you are on the ground using a chipper or chainsaw surely ear plugs are not suitable ?? (especially chipper).
  10. IMO for tree climbing no, the second link asumes that if its good for rock and ice climbing it must be good for tree climbing thats the way i read it. No connections for visors or ear protection. I think the helmet standards are (EN 12492 and EN 397 standards), correct me if im wrong. Also the chinstraps on climbing helmet should be designed not to come off. So i guess these questions need to be asked before buying the helmet
  11. did you add the extra padding for the new vertex helmet for smaller heads ?? I found the vertex helmet very comfortable.
  12. me like that. I've got a pic somewhere of a lady friend whos got one on her lady garden but not suitable for here
  13. Can still be used like that, the tape is just for tidyness and to keep the ends out of the way.
  14. 33 as of a week or so ago
  15. I would have done it abit longer and taped up the ends just for tidyness, but everyone likes it abit different. But i would try it on the ground first.
  16. Couldn't give a hairy fart tbh
  17. Me joking, Silky zubat 330mm does me
