  1. They cut faster. Maybe they feel slightly less nimble whilst snedding that maybe is the draw back. you only really notice on hairy stuff is my opinion though but personally I run them on 3/8 and would never go back to 325...
  2. Here we go again .... who's statistics ?if I had a saw last 6 months doing what you do i would be happy..10 tanks + of fuel a day through dirty spruce ...back in the day the mighty 262 which all the old cutters and you your self champion would not last a year on full on production cutting with out seizure or issues .. been there and tried it myself.
  3. Saws are saws ,some good and some bad we have all had a Friday afternoon saw !only really bad saw I've used was an early ms 201 oh and that husky 335 I honestly believe they where all crap .....and maybe the ms260's have never had a problem with the 550's though and the 261's we have do all right over the predecessor personally prefer the 550 though. 4. I know nod did have some but I just assumed any thing in the uk now would be CE marked so I went with tree stuff because Tragically I also wanted one of there green jambo rope wrenches so there was not too much of a hit on import.
  5. I'm not sure but I just got some more none CE cougar blue a 60m hank as my 50 was not long enough and it feels completely different because it needs wearing in , feels a lot thinner and maybe slippery but I'm guessing that's just new rope for you,Needs fluffing up and some grit on it!
  6. No these are the pre production models from the go fund me page Jaime set up to develop the akimbo.. rock exotica will be releasing the CE one I imagine soon as these are made of parts from rock exotica I believe.
  7. Check your junk email Paul my messages from Jaime and nod got sent there whilst some of the others didn't , we are just waiting on nod to tell us how much we owe him for postage but keep checking both email boxes... should not be long.

    Hello

Nicely climbed Levi! Good to see some rope wrench action. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. Can't get that vid to play , watched a few more , nice fluid style Alex.
  10. Second link plays, wow very dead! Good work 👍🏻
  11. Greetings Alex , was looking forward to watching your video but it won't play? !
  12. I'm no expert , spuds the man he rebuilt one of my 560's and ported it and it's got stronger compression than ever with just a new bottom end piston and rings.. compression is now so strong it destroys a starter recoil unit every 6 months!
  13. Met plenty with trapped nerves ,kidney damage and plenty of other ailments in this industry due from freezing damp and cold . See plenty of people spend more on there going shoes .. I'd rather spend on function and looking after myself which is 8 hours a day 5-6 days a week than an evening out. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. Never done anything with my c n c either rich ,I'm still pretty confident in it keeping me dry.
  15. Pistons cheap ... lil red barn of eBay if meteor are still not doing one .. forget it if it needs a pot though.
  16. I have no problem spending £150 on a jacket. Live and working on the pennines it is always raining so whilst I admit I rotate between two jackets one for spruce and pine and one for normal tree work I think spending £150 every year or two for some thing you virtually live in is no biggie.. the cut and climb is tough and won't get torn to shreds in minutes, keeps you dry and isn't to sweaty in most conditions and I've tried every jacket going from the Harkie ,sips, pfanner ,stein ,cheap cycle jackets that get torn to shreds in minutes... the new sipps is good , plenty of reviews of that as well.
  17. Cheers Darrin , just meant I had to down load tap a talk ... which I don't like. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. Is the latest 3.9.27? I deleted and re down loaded and it still has the same problem.
  19. What old mill says is spot on , I find my cut and climb still far more waterproof than the pfanner Ventura jacket it replaced and is still comfortably water tight a year in .. I hope it stays that way looking at the forecast !
  20. I'm buying a reel !
  21. Seriously though can any one send me a link to a £6 chain?
  22. Your six pound chain you could sharpen in 2 mins ......
  23. 10 mins to sharpen a 36" chain over 30+ pounds for a new one ? So over 1 chains life say you get 15 sharpens that's £450 .... can't see your point, sorry.
  24. I thought guys in there 70's where experts at filling off the rakers and widening the gullet and it was just the yoof of today who thought it was ok to wonder around with blunt saws cutting badly.
  25. Price of those hydraulic winches on eBay you could buy your self a decent PTO forestry winch for 1.5-3k
