  3. Wages Around the Globe

Interesting. Jose, where are you located? Ty, I see that you are in France, I have always heard that there was universal healthcare in France. What do you mean by top up healthcare? Is that an expense that the business covers? Also, what is the housing benefit? The company subsidizes employee housing? I should have mentioned, as an employee in Colorado my payroll was taxed at around 15% for state and federal taxes combined, no healthcare. As a self employed contract climber I was taxed around 25% of my income before write offs which got me down to around 10%.
  4. Wages Around the Globe

After looking at some job postings here on Arbtalk I am wondering, how are the wages for tree workers in different parts of the world? The posts I see for UK tree workers seem to be offering pretty low wages, granted I have no idea how this translates to me. Here in the US there is quite a bit of variance state to state and region to region. In my specific area starting wages are around 12-15 USD per hour. A top climber maxes out around 30 USD per hour while a contract climber can pull around 300-500 USD per day. While the average one bedroom apartment cost about $1000 per month.

  7. Hello

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I haven't made a video in a year or more, it's not super easy for me. Hi Mick! Darrin, yes, the frozen wood is tough. On the job in the video, I used my handsaw for some larger than normal pieces in hopes of having more control.
  8. Hello

Since I just joined here I figured I'd post a video as an introduction. Nothing special or crazy, just simple tree work. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LbKdBEkJFqw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  9. Courant Koala

Hi toolnut, I purchased this saddle a few weeks back and have put it through some paces. Yes, the rings are rated as that is where the bridge connects. All in all it's a good saddle. Not as comfortable as the TM but the TM was getting to be a bit much for the light pruning work that I have gravitated towards. It is perfect for that. A good blend between the Sequoia and the TM. Nice gear loops, simple design, comfortable. What else can I say?

Hello Arbtalk, my name is Levi. I live in Longmont, Colorado at the base of the rocky mountains. I own and operate a small tree service with my brother, this is our website- smallaxetreecare.com I look forward to posting on this forum and reading/learning about tree life in the UK. I may need some help on translation though, I am not too savvy on the dialect from across the pond. Cheers.
