    Tips

i got £200 tip on a £140 job. the customer an old bloke collapsed and i took him back to his house and got his wife, made sure he was ok and then finished my job. i refused at first but his wife insisted. most i earned in a day was £2300 1 load of chip and half a load of logs in an L200. i was finished by 2pm. was a good day.

  8. lakes lumber up at penrith sell them. the lad you need to speak to is lee lightburn. thin he has a website.
  9. your joking right? i was offered £10 an hour, they do 6 hours a day. it was gonna cost me a £10 in fuel a day to get there.
  10. im not sure all i can think is its the instructors. they didnt like my reply any way.
  11. i love the fact im going on holiday for 6 days tomorrow!
  12. i did a days work as an instructor at myerscough. i was chatting to a few students and they were winging that they were getting £100 a day climbing for local companies. they said they should be on nearer £200 a day. one of the other instructors asked me what i'd be willing to pay. i told them that with there vast experience and knowledge i'd give them £70a day feeding a chipper. it didn't go down well. basiclly colleges are telling students you can earn £££££££ a day which is wrong!
  13. so at current timber prices your better off burning dry larch chip etc to dry oak chip? from what i gather prices are low at the moment due to the lack of building work?

  23. as long as your tied into something of safe size hieght shouldnt matter. i'd rather be 100 foot up tied into a 4 inch stem than 30 foot up tied into a 2 inch stem.
