apparently he was only a couple of foot off the ground doing a hand held cut. his saw caught his waterproof jacket and dragged his arm towards the saw. if all goes well he should be back at work in 3 months. if its bad he will only have feeling in 2 fingers. its the second accident like this they have had in recent years. i dont know the lad apparently he is a subbie. i got told this by a local consultant who used to climb for ambleside.

i get a few big jobs with decent access. did you hear 1 of amblesides lads cut his arm badly with a climbing saw 2 weeks ago? i hate shifting timber from backyards.

i collected an ms880 this week, its used but not alot. the price was right. i'll be using it tomorrow.

he is based at witherslack now. i was subbing for his step son today, he has a timber trailer and a 16" crane fed chipper if you ever need the use of 1. it seems every week another company starts up round here. i normaly only get across to grange and up to ambleside now.

ive been doing tree work for 9 years now and the amount of people setting up in the trade has increased dramatically in the last few years. the only good thing is i get more and more freelance work.

it seems at the moment every one in cumbria is a tree surgeon , especially round windermere and ambleside.

have you tried Mark at Aspen Tree Management? he is good, plus if he can't do it he should know somone who can.

i wanted to get a quote from a mate to split all the wood at my yard for £50 and tell them to beat that!

2 local police men started doing tree work near me advertising the will beet ANY written quote! that really pisses me off. i cant believe they can get away with it. i have been passed a few jobs which they couldnt do between them though.

i reduced 57 sitka spruce today, far better fun than aday off! my little brother is 16 today so im going out for tea with the family.

im in the same boat as you. every one wants a view of the bay or the lake it seems. might have a woodland to re-plant though.
