  3. im after a log arch for my quad, just wondered if any one knows of companies selling them. i can't weld but might get a mate to build one if it comes to it.
  4. my mate lifted the poles in or out at the lockerbie APF. unfortunately i didnt know him when he was a crane driver
  5. i've had a new ms192t for a mornings climbing, a volvo V40 for 3 days felling, free mini digger hire in exchange for logs and countless bottles of wine and beer for little jobs and extras.
  6. would you be willing to do production forestry? i might know of some work coming up your way. the money should be ok for the right people if the job comes off.
  7. which pump is your mate on? i have a few mates in cumbria fire and rescue.

  10. on an mx5 near me is B10W ME cracks me up every time i see it
  11. i've got a silenced .410 shotgun for rabbit control and a daystate mk3 air rifle for lamping. think a .17 hmr is top of the list for my next gun, just need to get my FAC back. the daystates are great air rifles.
  12. have you tried nomad tree services? they are based in kendal and do railway work. i can get a number if you cant find it.where are you based?
  13. the green one from round lancaster is often parked round the corner from my house in carnforth. i think it pulls a drilling rig or something.
  14. i think it would be a better idea to make the assessors go out and have to work in the industry for a certain amount of time each year. the trainers i have met are people who couldnt make it in the industry. i know there not all the same though.
  15. i worked in a graveyard in munich, every grave had to be sheeted over with plastic and even then the smallest twig wasnt allowed to land on the grave. it was hard work but satisfying especially as all i ever did was climb.
  16. i got the l200 from a tree surgeon i used to climb for. think he paid £2500 for the conversion. ive had it 4 years now and its still going strong. i sold the career 707 to a mate. it was running at 12ft lbs. im after my fac and a .17 hmr at the moment.
  17. yeah think he is doing the chipping for grizedale already. he was up there 2 weeks ago i think. he seems to be keeping busy with it. he did a day for nomad on the m6 a few weeks back aswell.
  18. i think its up and running now, i think it was comissioned about 2 weeks ago.
  19. going well i think, he has just got a brand new valmet about 220 HP. He has sold a few boilers now and has a steady amount of chip to sell.
  20. slasher those sitkas were great, bring on the next batch. thats wills chipper! swb that was an average lunch probably about an hours break. the lad we were felling for came down for lunch most days.
  21. im out with my 13 year old sister tonight lamping. she is getting right in to it. she hasnt gutted anything yet though.
  22. few pics from the last few months. my mates new chipper and lunch in the woods (we were on a day rate)
  23. looks like a good day out. how many ferrets do you have hobs or jills? did you have to do much digging?
  24. if your chipper has cost you nothing that should be your advantage not your customers. the same with removing waste from site, just cos you dont have to pay to dump at your yard doesnt mean your customer shouldnt have to pay extra for removal of waste.
  25. my mate has applied for a full time job, if he gets it he is going to sell the processor. will let you know as soon as i hear anything.
