  1. agreed, i think people have created a problem that doesnt really exist i do use srt or footlock for access
  2. small pine removal over an imaculately maintained and well loved garden. heavy leaner towards the house, climbed and rigged the top down the lifted the stem backwards with the GRCS.

  6. people seem to forget that there are plenty of cheap pullys out there for a simple vt setup, for example Petzl Oscillante Swing Cheek Pulley | GO Outdoors coupled with some hitch cord tied with double fishermans, a perfectly servicable vt setup for less than £15.00
  7. buy a pick up, stack the brash and run it to the dump buy a rigging kit when you need it buy a chipper when you think you can afford it buy another truck when you get busier remember your now going to need somewhere to keep all this gear no body can really tell you how to do it, only you know when the right time to do things is

  15. make yourself worth more, its simple. be the best climber you can be, dont break anything and add things to the game. i got paid fair money as a subby, i brought saws rigging kit including a hobbs block was polite and did what was asked of me. i was always busy and earnt good money
  16. following on from mikes knife handle thread i thought id start a show us your knives thread On my last trip back to new zealand i picked up a new hunting knife made by a guy from dunedin. its got a pressure treated sweet chestnut handle that requires no oiling. its small enough for the small game i hunt in the uk, but also used it to butcher a deer and pig in new zealand 2e992cfdb382da7497aebfd6159449ad - About

  20. ive found the patron access line to be very bouncy and will be changing this year
  21. i wonder where that approach stands in the hierarchy of risk? more cuts = more tree time + rigging forces + potential for injury then lets not forget the increased footfall around retained trees from rigging operations potential cambiam damage from rigging device attached to tree....... i could go on
