  1. my brother converted his 90 into a pickup, it wasn't to much hassle and managed to get the bits for it fairly local
  2. removed a medium sized twin stemmed sycamore with a pretty nice inclusion at the base yesterday, speed lined most of the brash out over the understory of small trees and rhody down to the chipper 40-45m away. took the speedline up the tree with me and tied it off where needed and moved it with me, it was tensioned through 2 pulleys and attached to the truck. kept it simple by taking 7 slings and krabs, and getting the guys to tie them back onto my line knocked the timber down in 6ft lumps and cleared a space to get the loader in to shift it out, took 3 nice lengths to RobD mill and the rest of the timber went for firewood picked up 2 sugihara bars from chainsaw bars, very impressed with the quality, and in particular the stiffness of the 3ft bar on the 660. il definitely be getting some of the light weight sugihara bars for my o2os in the future

  9. its suffered because of poor management/marketing imo
  10. booked for 3 days last week, but had to go back this morning and move the last bits of timber out after fixing the boxer over the weekend
  11. reasonable sized pine removal, lots of planting to avoid and a long drag to the chipper. all the timber except the stem was staying on site in pieces moved with the boxer, to be cut up and moved by the customers friend back to his house with his g-wiz electric car and 4ft trailer. the council received 7 phonecalls and several emails in complaint about its removal. the included union ran down into the stem by around 1.5 m, and had obviously started to fail at some point stumpbusters are coming to grind the stump good job but a bit of a slog
  12. id rather give up removals than have to do them without my boxer I couldn't even contemplate doing a removal of this size without it
  13. rabbit (and a little free range pork belly) with porchini mushroom sausages
  14. rob just talk about what you see, what ever else you say is only opinion and unless its supported by hard evidence it will only ever be opinion people want things in black and white, statements for example like moribund crown apex and bifurcation of stem only make you come accross as a smart arse IMO why reduce and thin? thats something ive never understood. you naturally thin as you reduce and you certainly dont want to remove any inner crown growth
  15. id be keen to hear that anecdote mike, was it the strange crossover on the last 16 strand of the day at the apf?
