  1. Cheapest I got for my work pickup was Asda believe it or not. Age aint a problem for me with insurance though (getting out of bed is )
  2. Did 'A' or 'C' for climbing get a difinitive answer? Insurance dilema with su-contractors?
  3. Got both laptop and desktop. If its ur only pc go with desktop. I tend to just keep uprading the components and Scan are unbeatable for this, they also know what they are talking about on support. I have not bought a full system off them but they do supply them. A bunus is that anything over £300 they have 9 a month int free option. http://www.scan.co.uk
  4. IMO YES The pressure of finishing a job within a time scale and fatigue by working longer/faster because of commercial pressure must be a major cause. (This is excluding DIY pillock accidents)

    aspen petrol.

Just started using Aspen. No real probs so far ex my blower which is running like a pig. Anyone else tried the change?
  6. Good to see the page realating to Arbtalk discussions in World of Trees and the fact they say it will be a regular feature. Must be nice to see your hard work paying off, hope it helps the site progress. Nice one Steve

    Bs 3998

I was going to buy it last year but i think you said it was being updated and not to waste money till the new ones out. So I have been waiting, and waiting, etc, etc,......... ....... and yes I think a response from the forum would be a good plan

  10. Sounds like motherboard or power supply
  11. HS81R with 30". Just got one and well pleased so far Straight onto Aspen with no probs/adjustment either.
  12. Tell me about it. Some civil contract lads on a site i know spend all day nicking anything from old hay feeders to tread plate from under your feet! If they declaired it they would be in the high tax bracket. (thats west cumbrians for you )
  13. Has it been nicked and dumped when they could not sell it?
  14. Attended a H&S talk just the other week and Andy/Skyhuck are spot on. This bit is my interpreation of some of what I was told which may help in the future but CHECK IT FIRST. In simple terms if the company H&S policy, SS risk assesment & method statement cover the use of sub contractors their competance, insurance and specific responsibilities the actions of that sub-contractor may then fall back onto them. Without all this in place I dont think you will have a leg to stand on. Its a really greay area that does my head in, take specialist advice!
  15. Rather go back in the middle of the week and fell it, 2nd home only there at weekends!
  16. Sat's job. Pollard decent size Scyamore. Hate pollards, tried to get the customer talked round to a reduction but no chance. One of those where you consider walking away form the job, but money is money. To top it all off it was windy and wet all day, god i love climbing wet sycamores!
  17. Will pass the message on to him Richard

  19. May be worth pointing out duty of care to the tree owner
  20. Just recomended that one to a mate (Estate maintenance manager) Gonna get the angled head for mine when £ allow
  21. My HT75 (2007) = German One of the best things I have ever baught. Using it is a bit like knowing your own limits and when to stop
  22. Yep
  23. Just got the new Stihl verex vent Like a nice bright helmet
  24. Dont think you can win eaither way. My option would prob be reduce and plant a good size standard now, hope the old lass will last/stay safe a few years while its relacement gets established. Not a scientific judgement, just an opinion if viable
  25. We look cos we want to see whats there, a customer may just want to get to the core of the site. Dont think its essential by any means but it could help to give an option. Clicked on big A's link, fist time it took ages to load, got sick of waiting and closed the link! Consultant told me that ALL advertising should be done to what the customer wants to see and can understand, not what we want to show off that they will not understand. Same addage as doing work, a clean job gets noticed/commented on more than the complexity of what has gone before.
