    Dead Elms

Somewhere called 'Brow Top'. near where the new Tesco store is going apparently. It was a private job for a guest house, I was just asked to do the climbing. Only got the one shot of the first tree in the vid because Bob was too worried about traffic (even with two others controlling it!), photo shows both the trees a bit better although it does not show the drop off and the banking, etc.

First vid so please be kind! [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pNfgGKlKuGc[/ame]
  3. Good post Andy Im in the same situation (but only PT at the monent). Remember you are generally working for people who know little to nothing about the skills involved with what you will be doing (esp. domestic), so talk to them at their level (the same goes for advertising). Reputation sells better than anything else, an extra half hr at the end of the day tidying up will be appreciated more by the customer than the complexity of what you have been doing all day.

    Hilux or spine transplant?
  6. IMO because the saw is the wrong colour, enough of a reason for me

Off with a knackered back at the moment, now I have just become incontinent , classic. As for off-road, I aint complaining about mine
  8. That explains mine then!
  9. Part of Sundays job, clean/reduce neglected Apple. Sorry pic a bit crap & did the norm - forgot to take the before pic
  10. This the sort of thing? [ame]http://www.amazon.co.uk/Handheld-Wood-Moisture-Meter-MD-812/dp/B00118SL6A[/ame]
  11. Some reviews (esp. new gear) come across like adverts. They should me made to be totally impartial. My son get a PC mag & when they review a new game they say how it compares to other well known games. Helps to be impartial and decide if its worth upgrading to!
  12. Said they were stopping approved list here last year, as far as I know it is still going but the work generally only goes to one person (from what I have seen)...........
  13. Dont know if its still on at the moment but if u took out a sub with Total Arb (£9.99) u got 10% off at BASE - could save u a few £££
  14. I know what u mean Steve (but then you would have them to mark up etc), personally I get pissed of after doing a couple! Who would be liable if the loop failed?
  15. Round here they are charging (on average) £50/dumpy bag dropping to £40 if u get 4+ bags
  16. Only thing I have seen is an ebay seller selling lengths untied with instructions (??) because he could not sell tied loops, not that ebay is anything to go by. If u could sell them tied you would also have to id them for loler etc, more trouble than its worth for what you couls sell them for I would have thought. Richard.
  17. Think I know someone with some, if you have not got sorted pm me and I will ask him. Richard.
  18. Got to demo it on ass, but dont have to climb on it as far as I can recall. Agree that if u cant tie in off single roap u could end up in the brown stuff and good for secondaries. Was taught to climb that way 20 odd yrs ago so still second nature (although I use bowline).
  19. Not trying to find fault. No prob with doing anything when needed. Would have taken one line on the vid intro to explain why! I’m just jealous cos they’ve got bigger toys to play with than me……
  20. Got to agree. Looked to me like 'lets find some big trees and see if we can get paid to cut em down' irrespective of health etc. Cuts looked as accurate as my arse is level, sefety/ppe not too hot either. Just my opinion
  21. They say that charity begins at home, true, but what about the kids that cant be at home? Think about it and then get your hands in your pockets – are you really going to miss a few quid?
  22. Always filed by eye but got used to these now and would not be without them. Bloody hate doing rakers (with a vengeance ). Any tips to make it easier?
