  1. Tesco's sed to stock St Peters, very fine brew indeed.
  2. I dont like it. Itr will really struggle on any green timber over 3". These are a good machine - http://www.saelen-industrie.com/AN/accueil.php and these are the best small shredders at the moment. http://www.arboreaters.co.uk/Shred_It/S7000.html Remember that when you start to shred, you need 2 - 3 times the horsepower to achieve the same result...
  3. Well, I shall be mighty displeased if they give any of you a WI-PS. pathetic level of authorisation, might as well not bother...
  4. Mine are identical to Petes. All you need to do is drill a 13mm hole through the existing baffleing. Then richen the mixture so its not screaming.
  5. Great tunes Peter. UNKLE - keys to the kingdom [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=x5yD2yf1Qnk&feature=related[/ame]

    bad news

Yeah, heard about that. Am I right in thinking he was very new to the industry?
  7. Snigger:001_smile:
  8. Been porting saws for years now with no ill effects. However, choking up the exhaust and stifling the saw does tend to shorten the lifespan. Bob, who cares about noise? thats what ear defenders are for. Besides, I started with the old square metal 020, that used to make your ears bleed at 20 paces:ohmy:

    Lime

Like most wood, Lime burns nicely and gives good heat when seasoned properly. Dries quickly when split too.
  10. Not strictly true. Ported saws last longer, as they run cooler.
  11. Jeez! Chainsaws are dangerous? why did'nt someone tell me? I've been using the damn things for years, I could have really hurt myself!
  12. Ask them to put green dye in it Dean. No particular reason, I just like green petrol...
  13. Made a contact yesterday for good quality beech and oak thinnings. Might buy a few artic loads in.
  14. Dont try to dry it indoors next to your woodburner either, as it makes a stench not unlike Beelzebub himself farting in your front room.
  15. Horses for courses. My guys are going to be doing loads of small pruning works. The little saws will be ideal. For the kind of large takedowns I often do, the ported 200 is jus about powerfull enough.

Maybe if you had an orange saw you would be.
  17. All mine are done. They fairly crackle now:thumbup1: Its easy enough to do, I'll take some pics of mine tomorrow.
  18. Absolute cheapest I've seen 200T's going for is £350 + vat + delivery.
  19. All wood burns if seasoned. I reckon it wont be long before poplar and willow are getting dried and split for firewood as demand increases.
  20. Tell me what its like Dean, would love some of that. You probably know already, but the old rotary aircraft engines used a total loss lubrication system, and used Castor oil. Thats why the pilots wore those long scarves, it was to wipe the castor oil off their goggles!
  21. Are you sure you dont want to relocate to beautiful Snowdonia?
  22. No experience of the AMA, but I know the komatsu was every bit as tough as the 200T. If its take downs and big cuts, the 200 wins hands down, but for lots of small cuts, I see a saw that costs a 1/3 of the stihl being worth a punt.
  23. misplaced your sense of humour?

Ha, your so old fashioned. havent you heard, VHS is the latest in thing?
  25. Sorry, I lent them to Dean's missus:001_tongue:
