  1. I asked that. Seemingly not.
  2. I like Trees, but I could'nt eat a whole one.
  3. Some big machines laid on for arbo's to play with would be good.
  4. Yup. I would do this, and enforce it. But I would ALSO do this - What he has done amounts to trespass and criminal damage with intent of theft.
  5. Guys, just to clarify- You MUST have a WASTE CARRIERS LICENCE for transporting arb waste. If you take that material to a place where you turn it into logs, mulch etc, then you need to make sure you are exempt from needing a waste management licence. They are making this easy for you by saying that arb waste centre's are exempt from needing a WASTE MANAGEMENT LICENCE. But you must register for the exemption. Personally, if you cant keep up with the legislation that governs your business, go and get a 9-5 job. And if you'r caught transporting Arb waste without a licence, or processing it without an exemption, expect a large fine.
  6. you need an exemption from having a waste license. check the link in my first post. You can download the form as a PDF, modify it and email it back to them. costs you nothing.
  7. Personally, I'm happy with the changes in legislation and the move to fixed penalty notices. It would seem to be one good way of stamping on the dodgy operators, fly tippers, door knockers etc.
  8. its the paragraph 21 exemption I was surprised by. Seemingly you HAVE to have it, or you can be prosecuted for handleing waste without a licence. Forestry product does not come under the heading of waste, but any Arb waste does.
  9. Had a long Chat with the Environment agency today. In fact, I'm doing quite a bit with them at the moment, and one of the things that came out was a. waste carriers licence b. Registration for exemption Firstly, under new rules, ALL of us need waste carriers licences. No excuses, no loopholes, you HAVE to have it. No good saying its a product blah blah.etc. secondly, if you take tree waste back to your yard, you need a paragraph 21 exemption certificate for processing controlled waste - details below. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/business/1745440/1745496/1906135/1985714/1985724/1986619/?version=1〈=_e As I'm given to understand, none of this is optional - by law you need it. The first is £148, the exemption is free. Be interested to know if you know anything about this. edit - yes I know its more nanny state bollocks, so no posts whinging about it. but can anyone put forward any case law or similar that disproves what they're saying?
  10. Ah, WA. Thanks Kim, good to see you agai
  11. Nice work Steve.
  12. Nice truck. If it has a 3 pointed star on the grill, its the DB's...
  13. Beeefcaaake!!!!.....
  14. If not looked after they can be a nightmare. Belts, engine mounts, radiators on the cummins engine, the main drum bearings, the hydraulic motors... Nick Baileys is the tidiest I've seen, but it gets serviced within an inch of its life
  15. Cannon are good, but the worlds BEST bars are the Austrailian GB Titanium series.
  16. Nice work Ben. Nothing wrong with that pollard.
  17. It will handle hedge clippings just Fine. Are you looking at a brand new one?
  18. How many trees John? (or how much timber?)
  19. Nice work Mr Scale.
  20. You are allowed to charge 13% per annum, but you can legaly stick this on top if they are even a month late.
  21. Andy, 99% of hammermills are designed to reduce g100 chips (100mm square) to 6-8mm particles. Trying to save your hammermill work by using your chipper for size reduction is a back to front way of doing it. If you need any info on Pelleting equipment and methodolgy, give me a call, as I'm currently specing a full turnkey pellet mill operation for arb chips.
  22. no comparison between 7015 and 60tx. Most Tx's were junk.
  23. What you say is true, any of the large drum chippers with screens will do this. I even saw a disk chipper with screens at the show. Trouble is, its hard work on your knives and drum. A hammer mill will by its action produce a better product for pelletising. The biggest advantage of pellets is it density and calorific value. in small heating systems, pellets flow easily by gravity, without needing large augers and 3 phase motors. Chip heating systems usually come into their own once you get over 100kw.
  24. Andy, to get pelletable material, you will need to grind the chips to break / shred the fibres. very small chips wont work well enough. You need a small hammermill with auger feed to deposit all your chips into, then you will get a consistant 6-8mm shredded product . You will also need to get you material down to a moisture content of 12%...
  25. Well I hope I looked like a forester. Why is it a lot of the arbs insist on walking round in chainsaw pants?!?
