  1. Making lolipops Dean?
  2. My Bad. They get the Sig Sauer 550. All Swis nationals have to do military service. once they complete their training and go back to civvy street, but are obliged to retain their Assault rifle and sidearm, uniform and Ammunition. They are also encouraged to keep up their marksmanship skills. It's been said in the past, that one of the reasons Switzerland retained its nuetrality in the face of the Nazi threat was because the Nazi's were'nt so stupid as to invade a mountinous country where every able bodied man (and women) were heaily armed crack shot...

    engine firing

Husqvarna also make Guns and armaments. Thats where the Husky logo comes from. its a stylised notch and blade Rifle sight.
  6. Ha. Admit it - you were beaten by my superior arguments and use of scientific fact, my higher qualifications, long experience, and my devestating application of logic.
  7. Sorry Dean, but we already settled this argument-
  8. bollocks. Tree's need 'managing' like fish need bicycles.
  9. Stop being a poof. Go out and give it some stick!
  10. Or you can form a VAT registered limited company, and remain non vat registered as an individual.
  11. If you look closely at the trees on the Veteran list, more than half of them are old pollards, topped or coppiced trees. Perci, I like your sentment. Our woodlands (both new and ancient) need our care more than individual trees. And as for calling the council about the pines, that is very unproffesional behaviour.
  12. I've also found various ofices inconsistent in their knowledge. I will only deal now with head office in Sheffield. On site chipping does not need a 21 exemption, its processing it at your yard that requires the exemption.
  13. He'll definately have to apply for an exemption.
  14. I used to charge £100 a load minimum charge. Having said that, if you could supply me details of these people with mountains of the stuff, as I will happily buy the lot off them.
  15. Or in the case of the Swiss, a Styer AG, much better rifle than the M16.
  16. Dave - whatever you think, what you're carrying is classed as waste. Arborlord - dont whinge about how hard treework is till you've done agricultural or forestry contracting Dean - Giving away chip is pathetically bad business sense. Never given away chip in my life.
  17. Sorry guys, but your not forestry contractors. The chip and timber you haul is a by-product of your tree surgery operations. Sure, it has intrinsic value, but so has old battery's, scrap cars, coke cans and all other types of 'waste' What gets me is that none of you bat an eylid at the cost of NPTC certification (overpriced in my opinion) but object to a a free exemption certificate and a licence costing less than £50 a year:confused1:
  18. No, its about the control and traceability of waste materials. Most people who know me can attest to my general anti authoritarianism - but I quite agree with what the EA is doing. Picture this. Pikey truck is tootling down the road with a pile of brash in the back. with the new regs, they can be stopped and asked to prove they are legally carrying that material. If they cant proove it, wahay, truck gets confiscated and a heavy fine. Works for me.
  19. Unless you are a bona fide forestry contractor doing Harvesting, you are not exempt. Woodchip biofuel chipped in a forest is not classed as waste. Woodchips produced as a byproduct of tree surgery is classed as waste.
  20. No, thats why you apply for an exemption, so you dont need to do that.
  21. Arborlord, what part of 'free' dont you understand? And the waste crriers licence is only £50 a year. There are no exclusions with this, you HAVE to have it regardless of who you spoke to at EA. As for working untrained, lack of loler and overloading, speak for yourself.
  22. Jeez Dean your too soft. I would be hammering this prick.
  23. the layout of our new small chipper is for the most part, identical to that woodsman.
  24. May as well put it in a thread. this is one of my early prototypes - is this the kind of discharge chute you meant?
  25. He was man enough to post his vid over at Treebuzz, along the lines of ' I made a screw up, look what happened'.
