  1. Err..., just a wild guess, but maybe there was room to drop the top but no room to fell...?
  2. If I'm not mistaken, He's borrowed Terry's green spikes....
  3. I think They're meant to represent Stigs Nomex racesuit.
  4. Es más. También debe estar preparado para ETA a explotar su coche. Que puede ser inconveniente.
  5. Nice one. You should always manage an early finish if you have a crane on site:001_smile: Best thing about Bob Francis is that they will put contract hire on their own insurance for a 10% fee.
  6. Silvafox, try Bob francis crane hire, based up in chester. They might be a little out of your way, but I have nothing but praise for their older, experienced crane operators. Last hire I had off them was a brand new 45 tonner (2 axle) for £400 including the whole lift on their insurance. Good guys to deal with.
  7. yup, working fine here.

  8. 'Hayden', why not just admit that you are Liston Equipment?
  9. Not to disagree, as you obviously know what your talking about, but a deep hinge does'nt mean wasted timber. You can go deep and narrow if you know what your doing. I trained on 2000+ hoppus douglas fir and big oak harvesting, and undercutting the CofG was always easier than fetching the winch at the wrong moment.
  10. Nice! I love seeing 8 wheelers in timber. What was once the mainstay of the timber haulage industry is now marginalised by artics. Nice Volvo. Shame its missing a HawkFawk on the front...
  11. Ouch. Sort of puts all those trainers and assesors in there place...
  12. Brilliant. Signature material there Steve.
  13. Unfortunately, as much as we big up our industry and train to death, we are really just cousins to the agricultural industry, where rock bottom wages are the norm.
  14. Price of mild steel alone has gone from £450 per tonne to over £1000 a tonne in less than a year. Also the vast worldwide increase in mining has made commodoties like Tungsten carbide very expensive. We cut the disks ourselves, and have a OEM account with sandvic mining - and I couldent buy it that cheap...
  15. Yeah, you should have snapped that up! who was quoting that kind of price?
  16. Ha. Retail on a DD for your grinder is now about £1200...
  17. Not strictly true. With a deep gob you undermine the centre of gravity, for every inch further back into the tree, you move up to a tonne of wood over the CofG, thus making gravity work for you. Also the wider the hinge point, the more control you have. if you need too, you can always bore out the centre.

Nice Choice Rob. Bit of Rossini always goes down well. Stockers is obviously a philistine. I always get it confused with The Marriage of Figaro - [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wcuXkicCTro[/ame]
  24. Me and the Good lady booked a holiday in Turkey. Got to checkout, and her passport was a month out of date.
